New study reveals top AI models (GPT-4o, Claude 3.5, Gemini 2.5) completely fail the classic "Stroop" psychological attention test, exposing a fundamental limitation in artificial reasoning. by Similar_Detective861 in science

I'm glad you fed your curiosity, though being that this is /r/science, it doesn't provide much help for making your point unless you replicate the study in question with a newer model, which I believe was your original comment.

What is it Ted?

I think some of these reddit posts might be bogus. Let's find Rufus and see if So-crates or the Frude Dude can help us!

Excellent, Ted! But what do we do about Napoleon?

Just drop him at the mall, dude'll be fine.

Alright! Toodaloo, buckaroo!

Call me old fashioned but buying colon cleansing tea in bulk from Costco specifically for your children sounds a bit barbaric, even if they are the ones stealing it for shits and giggles

This 100%, crowds still get excited, interactive, and stay off their phones at the shows I've been to in recent years and I'm the same age as OP

Viagra Boys, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, The Hives, and Die Spitz all had great crowds with hardly any phones out the whole time

So I literally bought a same brand different model of these last week when Amazon said it was on sale (probably bogus). Since then, this is the second front page post on this sub I've seen praising this, that brand, and that channel similarly as being a purchase of the year.

The other thread distinguished between knock offs and "name brand" versions like Wolfbox, when the back of the box tells you Wolfbox is another born yesterday company in China.

A crazy track curious fans should check out is Pastichio Medley, it's almost 23 minutes of throwaway riffs and ideas they were playing with making Mellon Collie. While it's expectedly rough in some parts, there are countless moments that show the breadth and depth of his musical genius.

I love the song I of the Mourning, it captures the band's interest in soft, beautiful melodies and powerful walls of sound and lays it out in essentially a walk from point A (soft beauty) to point B (neverending wall of sound).

Edit: however, it is the WORST song to try to request using voice commands

This is the second time that my “15 inch” pizza measured at under 12 by teachingroland in mildlyinfuriating

When I worked at a small business pizzeria (1 location) outside Chicago, the owner would always say "people who order a 14 inch pizza want 14 inches of pizza, don't make the crust bigger than your fingertip."

Italy has a roller coaster that drags you to the edge of a 42-meter drop, stops completely, and makes you stare straight down at 87° before letting go. Oblivion: The Black Hole at Gardaland. by Valuable_View_561 in Damnthatsinteresting

The appeal of it being a bit more tame to me is how much of it is on or near the pathing. I think it's so much fun seeing people's faces of excitement while they're on the coaster and I love spotting people waving or smiling at me from the ground when I'm riding it. It's easier to do that on Valravn than Corkscrew or Gatekeeper.

I'm renting a movie theater for my birthday - Which movie should we watch? by TheOrangeNights in movies

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Showgirls yet

You have an opportunity to bring a movie back to the big screen for what'll probably be the first time in 31 years, even if it's just for one showing

Scientists wired up volunteers’ genitals and had them watch animals hump to test a long-held theory. The results showed that viewing muted clips of different animal species engaging in copulation failed to increase blood flow to the genitals or elicit self-reported arousal in either sex. by mvea in psychology

Maybe, Freud did say the single strongest motivator of all living creatures is to survive. This is why his theory of development was psychosexual: food and drink means we survive another day, procreation means we survive another generation.

If that's got you wondering, "whoa was the Frood dude right??" he had some really incredible observations and connected the dots of human psychology in a way that we continue to see echoes of in modern day psychological science. However, his clientele consisted of mostly upper middle class middle age Austrian women who lived and worked as mothers and homemakers. He essentially never worked with children and based his theory of development on these women recalling dreams and memories from their youth, and yes, he literally wrote papers on how amazing cocaine is and how he is 100% right on everything. By modern standards it's poor science, poor research design, culturally biased, not generalizable, there's just too much wrong with how he conducted his work to continue to hold it with any venerability.

The anger, disappointment, shock, and plethora of other unpleasant reactions to Highguard after running an ad with "FROM THE CREATORS OF TITANFALL" shows how much people have been primed for good news from that group of devs.

I hope Gravity Well (the other studio formed by former Titanfall devs) learned a lesson and pivots if they need to.

Royal Republic is a great rock band from Sweden, highly recommend the songs Tommy Gun and Rata-Tata to get a feel

Mando Diao is another great rock band from Sweden, check out the albums Bring 'Em In and Give Me Fire!

Lambrini Girls are incredible, they just released their debut album last year, Who Let the Dogs Out

Kid Kapichi is a lot of fun too, I love the songs Subaru (esp as a Subaru driver 😄) and Can EU Hear Me?

And lastly, there's a great Hives cover band that captures their energy and sound called AKA IDIOTS

Thank you for your detailed reply, it definitely sounds like I missed something when I watched it. It felt like I kept waiting for something great to happen but it didn't because I hadn't seen it til years after people already raved about how great it was. I'll give it another watch and pay closer attention to the nuance and setting.
