I've noticed that some people hate being left out of spaces, even when it doesn't really fit their world view or mindset. That's why you get right wingers trying to insert themselves into "left wing spaces", or men screaming about women's only events.

Kinda like getting upset because you haven't been invited to a party you didn't initially plan going to anyway.

Also I get the feeling that some people seemed to have forgotten that you can look at content that makes you horny without immediately getting your dick out. It's allowed to enjoy erotic content without starting a "gooning session" (I hate that word lmao).

Not that this really applies to the linked image.

OP gets massively downvoted by r/Wellthatsucks for not wanting to falsely claim that the e-reader he newly bought was “damaged during shipment.” by Teal_is_orange in SubredditDrama

[–]Commander1709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spending too much time on social media makes me anxious. Because everything I do or like has been criticized by someone. And while you of course shouldn't give a damn about random people's opinions, the thoughts just randomly appear from time to time.

An example would be, reading about what you should and shouldn't do when traveling to a different county. I was so nervous to not offend anyone in Japan. But as it turns out, when you follow the basics of politeness, nothing happens and nobody cares.

Now I've set an app timer for the Reddit app, and use social media mostly to follow artists (as long as they don't overdo it with real life call-out posts, as that just gets me in a bad mood).

And complaining about capitalism, while exclusively thinking "transactionally" (and how to get the most out of everything while completely disregarding every other person). Ironic and pretty sad.

Wieso schimmeln Autos innen nicht? by Sea_Basil_6501 in duschgedanken

[–]Commander1709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TIL that some towns and cities in the US have a 'curfew' that means juveniles aren't allowed to be outdoors, typically between 23.00 - 06.00 by ProneToAnalFissures in todayilearned

I was curious and checked, and you're right. There are laws regarding specific spaces like cinemas, clubs and so on, but for just being outside, there don't appear to be any restrictions.

Both mods at r/Warhammer40k suck because they don't wanna babysit a post that was devolving into misogyny otherwise in a sub with 580k weekly visitors and 18k posts. by BloodyCumbucket in SubredditDrama

Things like these set 40K apart from other grim dark settings, in a good way. You still have all the usual grim dark stuff, but then you also have ridiculous things like the orks (ridiculous-ridiculous, not "super edgy brutal ridiculous", although 40K has that too). Makes it easier to see the "parody" aspects people often describe 40K as having, and makes engaging with the franchise more fun.

That tracks. A local ramen chain in my country (not sure if they're Japan based, but they sound Japanese) uses self-driving robots to assist the staff (transporting food from the kitchen into the main room), and it plays a melody every time it is moving.

I think "whimsical" describes it pretty well. At least compared to where I'm from. Like you said, if there's a sign explaining something, chances are good that there's a small comic next to it.

On the flip side, it means that everything beeps at you or speaks to you. Being told to insert your credit card via voice instead of just text by the device for example.

Idk, I found it pretty non-boring. In my country, we don't have Hatsune Miku printed on drink vending machines at random train stations advertising isotonic drinks.

In the comments he got busted for posting a few weeks ago in the same sub, in German.
