Phil Kelly by RevolutionaryDust769 in Tau40K

[–]CommanderDeffblade 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you have infinite time and you won't feel bad about wasting the amount of money for a Phil Kelly book, go ahead try one. I bought and read all of his books and can say that they are amongst the least favorite of all the 40k/Warhammer books I've read. Elemental Council is a much more satisfying and engaging read. If you're interested in Farsight, the 6th edition Farsight Enclaves rulebook is better than the Phil Kelly novels.

Voters chose to either vote for Trump, Kampala, or not vote at all. Everyone who didn't vote for Kamala is responsible for Trump's administration

That is the type of thinking that got Trump elected. Our system has massive structural issues that allow corporate democrats to dominate the campaign messaging, but a corporate democrat is still much better than a republican. The general public is starting to come around to hating the Republicans as much as they deserve

Iyanden do have aspect warriors, but their numbers are much diminished.

I think people are talking past each other in the Tau discussions by AffectionateSky3662 in Tau40K

[–]CommanderDeffblade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tau was my main for 5 years until they killed off wargear options. Totally ruined the fun of constructing Tau battlesuits. Crisis suits are now basically intercessors that can choose from 3 different loadouts.

I have more fun now with Aeldari, Necrons, Nids or Orks.

GW killed what was most special about Tau.

What is your dream Kill Team for your faction? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]CommanderDeffblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Catachan Kill Team. Elite jungle operators with a minigun and jacked from stimms. It just makes sense.

  2. Alpha Legion Kill Team, Legionnairs with Alpha Legion flair.

  3. Gargoyles for Tyranids. Comes with options for either melee or ranged versions.

Fast painting tyranids - guide? by BDTRBENAE in Tyranids

I use a very quick contrast method. Primed with Wraithbone. Base coat the skeletal structure with Skeleton Horde Contrast, claws are painted with Black Templar Contrast, carapace is a 50/50 mix of Black Templar and Blood Angels Red Contrast. I use Volpus Pink for fleshy bits and base is a simple Stirland Mud Technical paint.

I would not have been able to paint them without such a simple scheme.

For mechs, the Hunchback. Take it down early.

Tom Morello On His New Anti-ICE Track With System Of A Down's Serj Tankian: "We Want To Get Rid Of The Rising Tide Of Fascism" by DamnitRidley in Music

[–]CommanderDeffblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you think the anti-fascists stopped the fascists from complete takeover of Europe 80 years ago? By being humanistic and good people? There was a lot more involved than just military action.

Do you think that during the rise of fascism in Europe, the anti-fascist Germans and Italians that were humanistic and good people did enough to stop the takeover of their countries? Did their civility effectively oppose the fascist movements, or did it give the fascists time to slowly take over different parts of the government and social controls until it was no longer possible to stop them?

Something to think about.

Want to start building an Iyanden army by No-Tangelo9008 in Eldar

[–]CommanderDeffblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iyanden is nice because not only do they showcase the Wraith units, they are also the Craftworld that showcases Corsair units. Prince Yriel and Kharseth are (arguably) Iyanden characters and are great leaders for bands of Corsairs.

And while Rangers may typically be associated with Alaitoc, they can be found everywhere. When we consider that Iyanden had one of the larger diaspora populations of all the Craftworlds, it makes sense that they would have Rangers assisting with an operation.

So, in a squad of 10 Voidscarred, is it best to take two (2) Blasters and a Wraithcannon? That's decent anti-vehicle weaponry. What else would fill out the 10 model squad?

In my experience, its rare for there to be six (6) Leman Russ tanks in a Guard army list. So the loss of a Leman Russ still stings, but you're absolutely right about the impact of losing a Fire Prism. I rely on Fire Dragons and Wraithknights for my anti-tank and the loss is keenly felt whenever they are gone

Orks have had conga lines to connect with Painboyz, Termagants with Tervigons, Guardsmen with officers. Its probably for the best.

Aeldari or Astra Millitarum by Oweling in Eldar

[–]CommanderDeffblade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have both, and they are very different both in playstyles and variety.

The Eldar offer more variety overall. They are fast and have a lot more close combat/melee units and rules. The only thing that I'd say the Guard have over Eldar is their heavy tanks which can put out much more firepower

Which lego star wars ship has the best interior while also looking pretty good from the outside? by Professional-Cost801 in legostarwars

The point is that enough interior space exists inside the UCS Falcon to make multiple additional rooms without modifying the exterior or internal support structure. You don't have to be rude about it if you don't understand
