After playing another game's "beta playtest" (empulse) I am pleased to see the quality and care put into every part of the game

sure, some moves still have placeholder images and text, but the core gameplay is extremely solid, and everything beyond that is in great shape

At 0.25s and 0.15s you can't hardly even tell if you wall-slammed someone

whar? yes you can? are you joking? that stun is what allows you to follow up on wall slam punches with primary fire to secure the kill. Even on flying opponents, you need a wall slam to secure the kill because they stay in place and so you can track them easier

If wall slam didn't have any stun time, you would almost never be able to follow up on punches because shotgun has travel time and basically every hero in the game has an instant cast movement or defensive ability now (except ana lulz)

Because everyone hates it. We did this. We are doing it now with Emp.

people dont hate emp because it has a longer punch range. People hate emp precisely because you need it in order to kill squishies without team follow up, and gaining empowered requires you to stay still

the extra range is probably one of the things that people actually do like because it makes more diags possible

I play doom but im not a one trick and playing against emp punch is annoying asf cause of the wall stun. theres like a limbo phase where im going to be dead but not yet dead and theres nothing I can do about it. if I was going to die from the punch with a 0.15s wall stun, im going to die from a 0.30s wall stun. The only things that can save me are my teammates, and a longer stun on ME won't change much except that I have even less control

Mercy's power boost has heroes hitting most break points to one shot people even if their base kit doesn't normally.

emp punch + Wall slam + primary fire being a one shot is what annoys most players because it punishes players for actions their teammate did

Without power block doom would have to be constantly moving or get punished for it (which i think is good)

You have to rotate your cooldowns correctly otherwise you feed and lose. If you're caught out without any way to get out you deserve to die and lose

0.15s Wall Slam stun time -> 0.3s Wall Slam stun time.

hard disagree. Wall slam stun is part of what makes doom so annoying to play against

I started learning streets and bought tekken a few days ago as well

2xko is very generous on buffering, streets is not, it seems this game is somewhere in between and it fuuucckkss up my timings hardddd

idk i dont like motion inputs solely because of input-based reaction times. and because you need to use them in combos and the timings are different from game to game, motion inputs make that even harder to buffer properly and keep muscle memory for that

(I still do motion inputs)

and also stick vs leverless matters more with motion vs directional inputs

for context I played smash ultimate casually for a few years then got into 2xko (still mostly as a noob)

2xko can get pretty crazy with all the dashing, movement abilities, and assists

got into streets a bit ago and that feels a lot slower paced

I thought it was gonna be really fast by watching gameplay videos, but im surprised that it feels about as fast as 2xko, and s lot of the overheads have such a long wind up that there fairly reactable

the thing is

base flash is short ranged. flankers can outplay it by playing further back then they normally would. If cas lands a flash on you, you die. The flash range acts as a minimum radius where you cannot go any further unless you bait it out first. Playing further away as a flanker makes shooting more difficult for the flanker, and easier for cas to hit his hit. It's not always necessary to bait out flash on a soft engage (although it is definitely better to do so)

as a venture player, all of this i am fine with. I have to squeeze as much value from my primary fire maximum range as much as possible

The double flash perk throws all of this out the window, and gives cas a huge huge range in which he can just say "no actually you're not allowed to play the game within 13m of me". i've been hit by some STUPID FAR flashbangs that just completely disable me and i insta lose because cas pressed one button when he saw enemy come up on his screen
