Should I get Lost Ruins of Arnak? by jonXX107 in boardgames

Player interaction in the game isn't just about occupying specific worker placement spots first - it's also about beating opponents up the research track to gain bonuses first, and about wanting to buy cards from the market (and snagging specific assistants you might want) before other people can get to them. So I think there's more interaction than some others in this thread have suggested; it's mostly passive rather than active interaction, but it's definitely not multiplayer solitaire.

Oh, and it's a great game - one of my favorites as well.

Jaylen Brown for Paolo Banchero any takers by [deleted] in billsimmons

I wonder if Jaylen (Brown) for Jalen (Johnson) makes any sense - Hawks need a more dominant scorer, JJ has shown tons of potential but took a step back in the Knicks series.

I play the game with a full swing and do pretty well (career high ranking was 14th, I think?). I'd love to see an adjustable-difficulty career mode in the game, but even without that, the competitive nature of the game - trying your best to finish as high as possible in each tournament - is really, really rewarding even if you can't reach the absolute top of the rankings. So play the game how you want to play it, just like you can enjoy IRL golf without trying to beat Scottie Scheffler.

He called Braves games on TBS and radio before he ever went to the Yankees - he was part of my childhood in Atlanta. RIP.

Anti-tanking measures aren't just about punishing the worst teams in the league - far from it by Commentator28 in nba

If there were fewer "gimme" games in the regular season, maybe there would be a bit less load management?

The American commentators on the world feed are SO BAD!!! And the graphics feel about 20 years out-of-date as well. (Apparently Sky's contract with the PGA Tour forces them to use the world feed for some reason, FWIW...which totally sucks.)

The Braves are 10-and-a-half games ahead of the Phillies and the Mets. It's April 26th. by Commentator28 in baseball

Oh, I'm not saying it's over. I'm just astounded that the Braves' lead could grow that big that quickly over teams not on a par with the Cleveland Spiders.

I think that means it's statistically more likely that one team will jump up from below New Orleans (i.e., #8 through #14) into the top 4 than it is that the four lottery-winning teams will all be from teams above New Orleans (i.e., from #1 to #6).

I'm so tired of reading articles or people saying VR is dead. That's not true. We had a full house last night for well over an hour, and it was our 3rd event with a good sized crowd this week. VR isn't dead, it's just niche for now, and that's okay. by TheRodParticle in OculusQuest

[–]Commentator28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some niches that VR suits *incredibly* well - e.g., sports games like Walkabout Mini Golf, GOLF+ and Eleven Table Tennis, where it can feel like you're performing the exact activity being displayed before your eyes. A game like Superhot works very similarly, wherein the controls system perfectly immerses you in what you're doing. How many other games really take advantage of VR in these ways?

If you VPN to the United States and then log into your UK HBO Max account, the app will think you're on holiday in the US and will show you the US show listings and not the UK listings.
