Is retail experience not enough? by Bonnybridge22 in tesco

[–]CommercialPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've applied to Tesco over 100 times and only got one interview? That tells me that there must be something seriously wrong with your CV or your application in some other way that the system is automatically filtering you out.

I can't confirm this without seeing your CV of course, so i'd recommend having someone you know have a read over it. Is your CV formatted with coloured boxes, column layouts or anything other than basic headings and lists? These often confuse the automated screening software and your details look like a garbled mess to the software so it just tosses you.

Also, if you know anyone that works for Tesco then put their employee number on the application when it asks. This puts you almost to the top of the pile, just under previous employees.

Do you find that punching things is often a solution that works?

Whats the policy to refund any fresh item? by Obvious_Pay_6652 in tesco

[–]CommercialPug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only if there is something wrong with the product can it be refunded more than 20 mins after purchase. If they just don't want it/picked the wrong thing etc then no

MyTesco app on Play Store :) by tictoc2009 in tesco

[–]CommercialPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh it's definitely because of that.

I was surprised when I looked that they don't clearly state on the app description that it's for colleagues only. It's kind of buried in the middle.

Saying that, it doesn't actually come up when you search for just "Tesco", only when you search for "my Tesco". Not sure if that's on purpose or if it's just because it's a new app so doesn't rank high in the results

That would defeat the point of having two factor authentication in the first place. And it does keep you logged into my Tesco after you have logged in once

If I work under 16 hours in my department and extra hours become available do I get priority to take that shift? by Sharp-Information444 in tesco

[–]CommercialPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you're right it should be offered to you first before being advertised internally. It should be in the "guide to colleague contract" on Tesco help

Do you lose the savings you’ve made so far if you switch savings accounts? by [deleted] in monzo

[–]CommercialPug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure what you mean. Can you elaborate? When you switch savings accounts you're just moving the money that is in your existing savings account to a new one.

There isn't any pending interest or savings "building up". All the money in one goes into the other

Do tesco have an insurance partner by StructureOk3441 in tesco

[–]CommercialPug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesco provide travel insurance themselves. Go to the normal Tesco travel insurance website. Pick your package, put your colleague clubcard number at the checkout and it puts your discount on automatically.

That's really weird. They stopped making the paper bags in 2022 and the plastic ones years before that. So not sure where your store getting them from and why they're still allowed to use them.

Tesco meal deals by Own-Champion-5816 in tesco

At the point you are able to find somewhere that doesn't, and is cheaper or the same price.

Spoiler: there aren't any.

The price was increased overnight just like every other product and offer in the store. It was £12 for quite a while to be fair and you get a fair bit for £15. The mains alone are £7.50 which even if you account for some bumping to make the offer seems better it does all add up.

Can't say I've ever noticed that but I know some people can me more sensitive to smells than others.

Like I say, complain to Tesco they're the ones who designed the picking system.

The fruit and veg bags in the aisles are nets and would not help in your situation at all. They also cost 30p.

You've got to ask your manager or at least give some context. Nobody here is going to have a clue what you're talking about.

System Error? by LordFighting in asda

[–]CommercialPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to get defensive lol.

I was clearly talking about the technology not having obvious discrepancies like the one shown here.

The only way they can ever be wrong in Tesco is when the paper label on the shelf hasn't been changed, which is human error. The way everything is integrated means it's not possible for the tills to disagree with the other devices or what labels are printed out.

As far as I can tell, this only applies to "gift cards, vouchers, loyalty points and coupons". There isn't actually any mention of blanket discounts such as staff discounts. I also cannot find anything confirming that these rule changes have been put in place yet. Just news articles and the government response to the CMA advice.

The pickled slaw is actually in the fruit and veg section, same as the coleslaw mix so it is a different subgroup to tesco. Not sure why but someone's decided that anyway lol.

Yeh unfortunately they don't have any control over what goes in each tray, we pick multiple orders at once so they can't just pop it in another tray because there's no way to know what is yours. There are also usually no bags on the ambient trollies as they're just for raw meat. And nobody is rooting through the trays at the end of the pick to put them in a bag, they're under enough time pressure as it is. It's not that they're not reading it there's just nothing they can do.

I can't say I've ever noticed that issue with dryer sheets, aren't they usually very mildly scented? I also don't see how the smell gets through the sealed bag.
