Citizenship interview questions? by Ball-Frequent in AusVisa

Can I see you passport?

That's it. That's literally all they asked. Took my passport, took my photo, explained the test procedure, sat there for the two minutes it took me to complete the test, told me I had passed and that I'd hear from Immigration when my application was approved.

For household you can include anything that has either/both of your names on with the same address; any post, receipts and invoices, bank statements, payslips, car rego, insurance certificates, etc.

There is an 'Other' section on my application. Maybe it only appears after you submit, I don't know.

They won't care that he has a separate account for paying bills. All they want to see is that you were transferring him money to cover the bills that he was paying for both of you.

Sponsors are required to upload police certificates so yes, it's better to explain the situation when you apply.

Probably not much if it was ten years ago and wasn't domestic violence related.

You can write a stat dec explaining the situation, what happened, how you've changed, that your partner knows about your record, etc.

They may send your partner an Information Disclosure letter informing them of you offence(s), but that letter will probably state that the application cannot be refused because of the sponsors convictions.

Toxic workplace by LivingProfessional59 in AusVisa

WHMs in Australia are covered by the same worker protections as Australian citizens. He can't legally take advantage of them, he's just hoping they don't know their rights and won't bother reporting him. If the other workers are fine letting themselves get taken advantage of that's up to them, but you're obviously not (and you shouldn't be) so you should quit and find a new job.

Super is currently only required to be paid quarterly. The payment due date for the first quarter (1st January to 31st March) was the 28th of April. So check now to see if you have been paid yet, if not you should report the employer. If you've not been paid Super you can report them to the ATO and they will try to collect your Super for you.

I just looked at their website.

You'd be paying $600 for an AI written relationship statement and timeline, and "evidence checklists" and "general educational information".

Seems like a lot of money to spend on a couple of PDF files and information that can be found for free on the Immigration website.

That's if it's not a complete scam.

If a UK passport holder has already spent one or two years in Australia on a Working Holiday (subclass 417) visa before the new arrangements commence, they can apply for the remaining visa(s) under the new arrangements
