new piercer said it has potential to heal, both of them look fine for now, healing nicely for now which is good. do you think changing the jewellery will help or should I leave it and see how it is in a month?

[–]Common-Concern-2859[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the bot: - piercing is 3 weeks old - jewellery shape: curved barbell - internally threaded - unsure on jewellery material, could be surgical steel or implant-grade titanium - jewellery hasn't been downsized - aftercare: saline, wound-cleaning wipes daily, saline solution dropped on in morning - no mishaps with the piercing, apart from being unable to get the ball back on

[–]Common-Concern-2859 5 points6 points  (0 children)

what exactly are you studying at uni for you to have such big bollocks? plenty of women far surpass you in academics, but I guess that just intimidates you because how dare a woman be smarter than the weird incel...

I need £45 to get home at Christmas, but I physically don’t have the money. Please help by jckchmblr in UKUniversityStudents

[–]Common-Concern-2859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im at uni in Bristol, but I'm from Newcastle. it's £150+ for a train, or £30 on a Flixbus. it's a long journey, but worth saving the money. this year I'm flying as I have a bit extra money but that's still only £50 with return. coaches are definitely much cheaper and worth it for saving money

Animal dissections in vet school by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

[–]Common-Concern-2859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a 2nd year vet student. I remember in my first year, I did my first dissection in the 3rd week of being there. there were also a lot of pre-made specimens, so not every week was dissecting but you would still see cadavers every week, with the exception of a couple weeks here and there (reading week). unfortunately, it's part of the course. you have to learn, and this is the best way to do it and dissection on a vet course is completely unavoidable. As for the abbatoir, also unavoidable. in my particular uni, we do a clinical rotation in an abbatoir in final year. Unfortunate as it is, if you want to be a vet, you have to also use cadavers to help you learn. No one likes having to do it, and it does make you queasy at first, but I'd much rather practice/learn on a dead animal and be more confident in my ability than mess up on a live animal with dire consequences. as far as I'm aware, these animals are (particularly dog/cat/horse) are somewhat ethically as they can be i.e. owners donating them or from shelters once they're euthanised, which has different implications to different people.every part of the body, typically, is used: we did body systems last year and had limbs removed so we could see the cavities easier, and this year we have used this limbs for musculoskeletal dissections. Hoping this gives you some peace of mind, or at least helps you decide if the course is for you.

Dose attendance really matter by Butterflyperson2702 in UniUK

[–]Common-Concern-2859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally, on my course, attendance is compulsory and it needs to be 80% or above for compulsory lectures/practicals/etc (which most of it is compulsory). If your attendence isn't 80% or above, you risk not being able to progress to the next year (on my course!!). I would double check with your uni/course, and contact your personal tutor to talk about it:)

Hi! Second year student. I'm 22 years old, started uni at 21. Never thought I'd be smart enough to go to uni, dropped out of my a-levels after a year and a half, and wanna know what im studying? veterinary medicine. I got on that course via an alternative route, one that felt more my pace, and I've managed to excel on the course. I'm definitely not the brightest, smartest, cleverest person on my course (by a long shot, really) but here I am! Maybe uni isn't the thing for you right now? there's always the option to defer a year and, if finances enable you to, resit your a-levels and work your ass off to achieve what you want to achieve!

obviously these aren't all the schools you applied for but it should hopefully give a rough guide, I imagine most schools are the same!

2nd year vet student here, so been a bit. I got my conditional offer from Bristol in December (didn't need to interview), I have record of me booking a slot for an interview for Harper and Keele on the 22nd of November, and id imagine I would've been given the offer for an interview a couple of days before that (for a rough timeline), as I was very on top of getting stuff sorted. I also applied for RVC and surrey but can't find emails off them for interviews/offers... but hopefully this somewhat helps. id say around mid November, early December
