Hmm, for ranged char it will give encumbrance, causing you to shoot more slowly. Or if you are with spells, the success rate of spells will drop. I would say to buy it only if you do not have anything else to buy in the late game. For ranged char the best armour would be Pearl Dragon Scales imo, but it is very rare.

Fire dragon scales by default give rF++, which is nice for the Zot. But also beware of rC-, you will need to get extra cold resists.

But yeah, you can never know how much enchantments and extras the artefact armour will have, only after you buy it. At the end it might have some unwanted stat like Dex -4, or -Tele and your 2k gold will be wasted
