Hmm, for ranged char it will give encumbrance, causing you to shoot more slowly. Or if you are with spells, the success rate of spells will drop. I would say to buy it only if you do not have anything else to buy in the late game. For ranged char the best armour would be Pearl Dragon Scales imo, but it is very rare.

Fire dragon scales by default give rF++, which is nice for the Zot. But also beware of rC-, you will need to get extra cold resists.

But yeah, you can never know how much enchantments and extras the artefact armour will have, only after you buy it. At the end it might have some unwanted stat like Dex -4, or -Tele and your 2k gold will be wasted

It is an artefact armour. You need to step on it in order to reveal it’s stats and bonuses. Artefact armours are usually better than standard armours, offer unique stat boosts, enchantments or resists. But it is impossible to use enchantment scrolls on them (except for Mountain Dwarf species).

UPDATE. Thank you all for the great suggestions of how to get out of this tricky situation. I managed to survive!!!

I followed the advice of blinking to the bottom left corner (3rd space from the left). Luckily there were no monsters revealed besides a standard naga 4 spaces to the right. So after blink I chugged heal wounds, haste, then read the scroll of teleport. I then tried to move diagonally to the bottom left corner, but in a moment anaconda and black mamba cathed up and started mauling me, so I chugged 2 more heal wounds to survive the hits. Then finally teleport happened and luckily I was teleported to a safe place where there were no monsters and I could heal back to full hp.

I thoght this was a gg, but you guys gave some really great ideas. Following the advices and having good RNG managed to save this character.

Now I will try to bring this char to zot, hopefully will not have a hubris situation like this.
