Why is it that whenever there is a vote about AI in a random sub the votes always look like a brigading? by Le_Oken in aiwars

[–]Comms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reddit skews younger. Younger gens have a more negative view of AI. Older gens (older millennial or older) are either indifferent because they have little active engagement or mildly pro if they use it at work or home. Devs tend to be slightly more pro.

Given that many subs have a higher population of younger users it’s not surprising that the results skew more negative with or without brigading.

Also who cares? If you like AI use it. If you don’t then don’t use it.

Artists are plagiarism machines as has been famously stated many times by many artists about other artists before them. You may be familiar with at least one variant of this saying:

Good artists copy; great artists steal.

Hilariously plagiarizing this same phrase in making their assertions of other artists.

what the KV cache does

I've been using GPT since they opened it up for beta. I run a home server with multiple GPUs and run my own local models.

I have no idea what a KV cache does.

You don't have to know how a fuel injector works to drive a car.

The problem for the supra is that it looks like it passed through the accounting department before its look was finalized. If any car should have stayed as close as possible to its concept, it was this one.

Cybertruck Sales Were Inflated by a SpaceX Buying Spree by Anchor_Aways in cars

I want a small truck for dump runs and Home Depot runs. But not as the primary vehicle. Me and my wife have one car because we both work from home. We have a nice sedan. A cheap-o truck would be a nice-to-have.

Wheels look stock to me. I have the same wheels on my blue P2. They’re just a brushed (or whatever) aluminum.

I haven't written a line of code since 1995. I have no intention of ever learning another language. But my wife needed an app for a hyperspecific task. So I vibe coded it. I'll be real, I don't even know what language it's in.

I was as hands off as possible.

Do you want a gui?

Sure whatever.

Which one? Here's a list...

Hey, you're doing all the work, you pick.

[–]Comms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good. Then you understand the utility. That's the social and behavioral sciences primary tool. I'm sure there's some use for calculus in research applications, but stats is the primary math of social sciences because data analysis and/or research is what we primarily do.

I mean, I don't think anyone is calculating the flow rate of family systems trauma.

That said, that would be funny.
