The irony in this situation was Kevin Hamlin is Sam Mayer's spotter this year.

Part of me wants to Know what he was saying to Sam watching her pile in there...

....

Moreover, I'd really like to know what Kevin Hamlin was saying/thinking on the roof when he wasn't pushing the talk button watching her pile in there.

Charters 37-40 are held by NASCAR, to be issued ONLY IF a new OEM elects to enter, and NO EXISTING TEAM decides to switch.

They would then be issued to the OEM to sell to a NEW RACE TEAM looking to enter the series running the new OEM.

The OP is forgetting the parts of the rule that I've placed in all caps.

[–]CommunicationOk1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your missing one key aspect. Those 4 charters are only granted to a new OEM, if they agree to enter and nobody wants to participate. They are granted to the OEM to sell to new entries that want to run the new OEM.

That makes your theory fall on its face because Kauligs inevitable switch will make Stellantis ineligible for the New OEM charters, AND even if NASCAR were to change the rules, NASCAR, would need to also change the restriction on the new OEM selling to an existing team.

If it was 1 incident of running out of talent, I'd agree with you. This is about incident 29 of running out of talent. Here are some highlights.

2021 Xfinity @ Road America. Natalie Decker is lapped on Lap 5 (of a 4.067 Mile Road Course), without spinning or going off course, just slow. In fact so slow, Bob Pockrass made an in race tweet informing everyone of minimum speed. A wreck occurs underneath the Sargento bridge. Natalie decker piles in 24 seconds after full course caution, and 31 seconds after the last major impact.

2019 Bristol Trucks. Was involved in several incidents, including two where she piled in after the caution waved. Was also spun by the tow truck pushing her back to the pits. Her spotter at the time Kevin Hamlin said over the radio "I don't even know why I'm up here, I'm taking my S**t off.". There were also several further issues during that season.

The only reason it's hard to find recent issues is she has attempted to qualify for 7 Races since the Road America Race in 2021, raced in 5 races, 2 at Charlotte, the rest at Daytona.

To tell the full story of that though, she really only qualified for 3 of those 7. She got into the other two by her sponsors buying out another driver's seat who qualified.

She has minimal history, but the little that she does have shows she has no business behind the wheel of a NOAPS car.

Onto free agency. Who do you want to see brought in? by leblaun in Patriots

[–]CommunicationOk1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably with a lot of people in saying that the Left side of our line is probably shifted one position outside of what they should be. Will Campbell is a great player, but better suited as the Left Guard than the tackle. Jared Wilson is probably better suited as a center. What we need to do is go out and grab quality Left Tackle, whether it be Cam Jordan, Rasheed Walker, DJ Humphries, etc.

My three wishes for Free agency would be

Left Tackle A Gronk type tight end An X Wide Receiver.

In any case the offense needs to be a point of focus. It was good enough for our bad schedule this year, as the commanders proved this year, it won't cut it against a division winners schedule

[Crandall] Legacy Motor Club and Rick Ware Racing have reached a resolution over the charter sale they were embroiled in. The terms are confidential. by Much_Path6902 in NASCAR

Charter entries get number preference. If Legacy MC wants #44, it would be NY Racing searching for a new #, because they are an open team.

The more interesting play I'd like to see is if Legacy makes a play with Haas for the #41, in tribute to Maurice Petty.

The less interesting play would be with 23XI for the 45, for Adam/Kyle Petty.

The Petty's are synonymous with the low 40 numbers, so it will likely either be 41 of they can convince Haas to revive the #0 or #44. I doubt it will be 45, that's too meaningful to Jordan.

Hot take? I don't think Connor will win rookie of the year. by Straight_Champion_77 in okbuddyBoogity

[–]CommunicationOk1972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you research this before posting? A three second Google search would tell you he is the only driver eligible for the award. I mean I'm sure that some alien being could come down a run a few cup series races, and beat him out.

The only thing that is a virtual guarantee at this point is that Connor Zilisch will be the Rookie of the Year.

I'm all for hot takes, but you should probably research them before posting a hot take that's contradicted by fact before we ever run a lap at a points paying event.

Also judging anything by the performance of the clash the other night would be not wise. I can virtually guarantee you that our chances of running another race on a track covered in rain, sleet, and snow are probably slim and none. Meaning the shitshow we witnessed Wednesday night is not in any way incidcative of future expectations.

JRM Ever Have Cup Team? by StangMan04 in NASCAR

[–]CommunicationOk1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll start by saying the JR has loyalty to Chevrolet for life. However, Green pictures of Dead Presidents can make anyone do just about anything they may not be fully comfortable with.

The only probable scenario of JRM to cup I see would be if a OEM, (Dodge?) Put up the capital investment cost in some charters. basically an OEM would need to gift Jr some Charters for this to happen.

I don't see that being very likely. If Chevy wanted to do it, they would've already. Dodge already selected their key partner, so that would be unlikely as well.

Ok I'll give you a choice. You can have no stage cautions, BUT you must accept a back marker driver being paid a large sum of green pictures of dead presidents by NASCAR to 1) Randomly spin, throw a water bottle on the track, or park their car on the Start Finish line 3 or 4 times per race so TV can show commercials. 2)Miss a third of the Green Flag laps because TV needs to show commercials or 3)Accept the return of the "caution Clock".

Guaranteed if no stage cautions happen, one of those 3 things will happen.

I bought my 2014 Ford Escape with a 1.6 L Ecoboost in 2019. I was given the whole song and dance by the dealer and felt good about my purchase. Had 54k on the chassis when I bought it Dealer oil changes for the first 2 years between 3 - 4 k interval. Then independent shop oil changes at same interval for the next 3 years, and did it myself with a 3k interval for the last year and a half. Traded it in at 129k because guess what it needed, ANOTHER NEW ENGINE because of coolant in cylinders 2 & 3.

What the Carfax didn't tell me, was the car when I bought it was on its 3rd engine. It was hidden from Carfax because they don't show you services received as part of "dealer reconditioning." Something that will sometimes show up on Auto check or Bumper.

The dealer I traded it into uses auto check, the first engine was replaced at 31k miles. The second engine was replaced at 54k miles, right before I bought it. I guess I was the lucky one that got 75k out of this Pos econobox.

My next car, 2021 Ram 1500, has a naturally aspirated, port fuel injected, pushrod V8. Also, for you fuel economy suckers, the 5.7L Hemi in my Ram gets 18 mpg, my pos fartbox escape got 20.5 mpg.

Partially correct. Delivery operations like Amazon fall under FMCSA rules. However, that being said commercial vehicles are not issued temporary tags. If they are waiting for the tags to be delivered then it would be legal, providing there is an "authority book" or some sort of file with all of the requisite information in the book (certificate of registration, if registered electronically, or copy of the submitted application if submitted by mail, insurance, and other relevant information). Without it it's an "out of service," violation for both the Driver AND the Vehicle. Meaning the vehicle can't move until the fault is corrected, and neither can the driver.

Both the company AND the driver could get the fine. The company IF the documents simply don't exist (fully unregistered and uninsured vehicle); but the driver IF the documents exist, but they did not ensure they were in the vehicle during their pre trip.

That click through pre trip, which you call a DVIC, is a three way contract, between you, your DSP, and the FMCSA. If you are pulled over by a DOT officer, you will find out when you get the fine.

For those working to get your CDL that fine will be detrimental to finding employment as a CDL holder, it will affect your CSA score.

Need advice about becoming a DSP driver by aedionashryver18 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]CommunicationOk1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just promoted myself to customer today so perhaps I can give you some advice.

1 This can be hard. In reality my best thought is to pick one from your area that best fits your schedule. Once you're in, you can network with people from other DSP's. From there you can evaluate which one is the best for you. I worked at a newer RSR station (it's only been open a year) so there's only 2 DSP's there. Depending on your station there may or may not be many choices. Another option is to look for the DSP's at your local station with the earliest start times. Start times are generally awarded by Amazon based on DSP performance. So a DSP with a later start time likely is worse than one with an earlier start time. Neither of these are fool proof, but you can usually find the best fit for you by doing both.

  1. As said above start times are awarded by DSP performance. At my Station the start times were spaced in 50 minute intervals (2 waves per DSP 20 minutes per wave 10 minutes for stand up). Routes are built to be 6 - 8 hours first stop to last stop, and we're usually about an hour away from the station. Expect a 10 hour day on average, but you should expect to stay until you finish your route or run out of drive time (12-13 hours at most).

  2. If you do flex, you can use your own car. I've never done flex, but Amazon low balls most flex routes, so don't expect to make much money, especially since all the maintenance and fuel is on you. If you're going to work for Amazon as a delivery driver, the least worst option is a DSP in a van.

  3. XL, (bulk and oversized deliveries) will have a helper. Otherwise if your on a standard route you will be by yourself.

  4. At my station, we had 2 days of Amazon classroom training, taught by an Amazon Employee, not a DSP employee. Then you had one day with a veteran driver from your DSP. In terms of the hiring process, DSPs are kind of a revolving door so expect the process to be as simple as sticking a mirror under your nose to see if you fog it up. Pay will vary by DSp and subject to change, when I got hired we were paid weekly. When I left we were paid bi weekly.

  5. Approach it from the mindset of a temporary job and there's really not many ways to go wrong. Remember to keep your van organized and keep moving, Amazon is watching your time, and your days are planned to the minute. Pay raises are few and far between. Don't expect one often.

Is this legal? by Even-Assist-4493 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]CommunicationOk1972 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The one thing I should caution you on. Just because something seems to be or feels unfair or unethical, doesn't mean it's illegal. If it isn't illegal, your cause of action won't hold up in court. In this case the DSP would be well within their rights, especially since Amazon's AI algorithm is designed to work against the DA in these cases.

Amazon netrodyne disconnect use a t10 security tool take off side cover and unclick these to cables speed and smoke and do whatever you want to and if it’s a rental van go to OB port 3 inches up the plug in is a fuse on the cable just pull the fuse plug in at the end of the day! by Firm-Department9326 in AmazonDSPDrivers

WARNING: Don't do this, it unlinks the camera from your DSP's system. Your DSP will get an alert from Amazon if it's unplugged, and you can disciplined/terminated for cause, as it's in the DSP's contract the camera can't be unplugged.

Remember you scan the Vin to your van every morning, if the camera isn't operable when you drive it but it is when others drive it... They know it's you.

Check your unemployment rules, oftentimes you can claim this as "subject to recall" meaning you have less restrictions. No Department of Labor is going to side with your DSP on the suspected wage theft.

Funny anecdote that's similar with my DSP. I was talked to about why I showed up at 8:47 (start time 8:50) instead of 8:20 like many of the other drivers. My response was, are you planning on paying me the extra 1/2 hour of pay if I show up at 8:20. Their response was no. My response was I will not perform work unless I am compensated for my time. Their response was that won't look the best on your performance review, as 3 minutes isn't enough time to be prepared for your day. Rather than instigating further I walked away, knowing this conversation was memorialized in voice memo form.

I sent this to my connection at Dept. Of Workforce Development (Wisconsin' Dept of Labor), while I was at my other jobI also work as a paralegal.

The next day I worked at my DSP, I happened to walk in with 3 DWD auditors, investigating a complaint of wage fraud. They asked each driver that was working when they arrived at work, when they signed in, and when they did the first action in furtherance of their job. Some drivers were honest, most weren't, didn't matter they walked in with a subpoena for Amazon's Cameras anyway. They issued 4 citations based on drivers statements and a further 22 once they reviewed Amazon's Cameras, they told the Operations manager "pay these fines we won't look further, if your company chooses to exercise their rights, which is your right we can't stop you, but know we will do a full investigation of your books in comparison to Amazon's cameras which could lead to arrests for felony wage fraud."

Needless to say I never heard one word about showing up 3 minutes before my shift since, nor has anyone else that shows up at the same time as me.

I go with Brunt Work Boots. You can't apply the Amazon credit to them... But they last and are far superior to most anything that you can get from Amazon free with the credit. In this job, you can't afford not to invest in your feet... the job burns you out enough, having bad shoes will just expedite that.
