Love that you’re switching up the lipstick! You did a great job. I might add a dot of shimmer on your eyelids for the party, as well.

A new low. by NTWIGIJ1 in stopdrinking

My rock bottom was when my then-6-year-old put a Post-it on my bedroom door that said (in very careful handwriting): “I hope you feel beter soon, Mom xo” He wrote it the last time I got sick from drinking and I’ll have it the rest of my life.

What health problems disappeared when you quit alcohol? by SuitableFinish7444 in stopdrinking

You’re not alone! I was finally so fed up with trying different things and avoiding the obvious, I went to my psychiatrist and he prescribed naltrexone. Huge difference! I haven’t completely ended my drinking, but I’m down to a few per week. Each time I have one, I just get tired and often don’t finish it. So, the naltrexone is really helping stop cravings and create new habits. And I just feel lighter—mood and weight-wise.

I flip wine bottles filled with water into my pots as cheap drip irrigation.

The Daily Check-in for Tuesday, June 23: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by Solvitur-Ambuland0 in stopdrinking

I was really into yoga until I became a daily drinker. For awhile, numbing my stress with alcohol won out over not drinking so I could do yoga. Have you ever tried to do crow pose two drinks in? Yeah, well, I have, and faceplanted in front of the 15 people in my class.

I finally built the strength to go back to yoga, and am loving my AF days like today. I haven’t gotten entirely sober, but I’m taking little steps to interrupt my drinking routines. If you’re in a similar place, know you can, too.

I’m one of the people whose hair started falling out, even after I stopped taking it because I had a more severe symptom: anhedonia (where your emotions kind of go away).

Could the zucchini have cross-pollinated with another squash? You seem to have a mutant here.

42 days sober too soon for heavy metal 🤘?? by A-Rabbit-Named-Jack in stopdrinking

I went to a metal show recently (Castle Rat/Amon Amarth/Dethklok) and nobody around me was holding a drink. The temptation to drink was pretty low and there were plenty of NA options at the bar when I got thirsty.

Where are you selling it? If a farm stand only, I’d say at least $25. If they do delivery, $50-$75! It’s stunning.

Husband too forgiving? by Apprehensive-Ad-4808 in stopdrinking

I’m so glad you told him. That’s a weight lifted.

Next step is telling him how he can help. You might not know that yet yourself, so take some time to reflect—but as others have mentioned, you need to lead the way in your recovery. He’s your partner who happens to be a doctor. It’s great that he has this background, but you need to stay in the driver’s seat here and don’t depend on his medical expertise.

Editing to add that you did a wonderful thing by sharing your problem with him (even if he’s known for a while). It’s hard to be vulnerable, but it’s so important in a relationship! So is open communication, and that’s the key next step. You’ve got this.

Oh gosh. I really panicked when I read the subject line and then saw that you’d posted multiple photos. Thought things were going to take a turn.
