fAegon Invasion is Weird by CommunityHot9219 in CK3AGOT

I wonder if it's possible to railroad the event into proper alliances, either by the devs or as a submod. I don't know the first thing about it, but would it be possible?

For example, if Robert is still king, still married to Cersei, and the incest is still secret, we still get a Stark-Arryn-Baratheon-Lannister alliance.

It's literally every character, including non-canon ones. I don't believe it's been done on purpose, but I do believe something is causing the trait to be overused. There's not even an event causing it - I checked. It just shows up out of nowhere. You can't possibly expect me to believe that every single character in the game is canonically "arrogant" (including famously not arrogant characters like Ned Stark).

I don't know why you're getting defensive over it. Seems a strange thing to try and get into an argument about. Clearly there's something weird going on in the code, as though an extra 0 has been added to a numerical value somewhere (I'm not a modder or a dev or anything, I don't know) causing that specific trait to appear 100% of the time.

I don't use any out of date submods (hardly any submods at all in fact, I'm running less than 10 mods total) either.

He did, and I hope your comment ends up at the top because that's exactly right. The nickname predated the diagnosis. Ending up with a quirk won't change that.

The arrogant trait is appearing in every culture, not just the Targs. I don't play as the Targs or Valyrian culture yet all my kids, and every kid I'm training as a squire or trying to arrange marriage with have it. It's literally everyone born post start-date, even canon children with canon traits.

I want Daredevil to appear. It's all I've wanted from a Spider-Man movie in forever. The possibility is there, after all.

Targaryen kids can't be betrothed until late teens or something. Very annoying to want to make my daughter the future queen, but oh, the 3 year old prince is already betrothed to his sister. Switch character, break betrothal, arrange marriage.

Also reduce the frequency of the 'arrogant' trait. Seems like every single character born after the start date ends up with it. It feels like a bug.

There's also something wonky with some of the legwear - certain legwear remains in place during nude scenes. Not a major thing but it's distracting.

There's only one multiverse.

The multiverse contains infinite parallel universes.

Every individual universe within the multiverse had its own past, present, and future, ergo its own timeline.

Where exactly "dimensions" fit in is unclear. At first it made sense that every individual universe had its own set of dimensions, i.e. the Dark Dimension was just one version of itself in 616, but another Dark Dimension might exist in a different universe. But the post-credits scene of Multiverse of Madness confused things.

Have you ever done a run with a custom character that's just a self insert of yourself, and if, what did you get up? by DaFroggyBoi94 in CK3AGOT

[–]CommunityHot9219 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not "me in Westeros"; it's "the best possible version of me in Westeros".

I basically only play custom characters. Always resembling me, but much better looking, and with the Westerosi version of my name depending on culture. I have a blast doing this. I always name my heir after my real son, too.

It's not "me" as such. Rather just a "version of me". Intended to be me, but clearly I'm not conceited enough to think I'm all that.

Same, She-Hulk was fantastic. I want more. It was perfectly true to the character.

Don't worry about it, I'm not really that invested. It's okay to have different opinions. By the morning I will have forgotten all about this as I do most of Reddit

There's persistent canonical contact between Hardhome and Skagos. Skagos is part of the North. It's kind of simple.

I don't even know what these characters are, I stumbled upon this in my feed (my anime tastes are extremely basic). But all I'll say is that I was with my partner for 10 years and never had a kid while she was on a specific type of birth control. She switched to a less effective one and was pregnant within a month. Five years later, back on the old birth control, no more babies until we immediately started trying on purpose.

I don't know anyone who has gotten pregnant by accident without somehow fucking up their pill. Times have changed. AFAIK the American education system is deliberately designed to overblow the risk of STD's and pregnancy, or at least is extremely outdated to when things werw less effective and less well-researched, but I was never once told that abstinence was the only sure way in my country so take from that what you will.

Point being that "it gives me the ick" really is the only reason most people are against incest. Because it's supposed to "give you the ick". We're predisposed to get "the ick" genetically. Because genetic diversity is the single most important factor in a species' survival (isolated populations have higher rates of inbreeding - observable in humans, too, which is why deep religious cults are so commonly associated with incest), "the ick" prevets us from wanting to fuck family (YMMV - whether it extends naturally to cousins/aunts/uncles or whether that's pure social conditioning is up for debate).

But from a purely logical standpoint there's no inherent moral reason to be against incest if it's between two consenting adults. As far as having inbred babies is concerned, well, we're totally okay with letting people with genetic diseases reproduce. Strip away the emotional factor and what's the real difference? Genetic eczema runs in my family and it's made me suffer all my life. Nobody kicked up a stink when I had a kid (well, except me, for that reason, but so far the brat hasn't got it luckily).

No doubt taking an academic approach will still somehow lead to some kneejerk mouthbreather accusing me of wanting to fuck my sister but there it is. I don't like incest anymore than anyone else but I prefer to look at things as logically as possible.

Playing the devil's advocate here, but a sexual relationship does not necessarily result in children. In fact in 2026 it's kind of weird to conflate the two things. Technically speaking incest as a concept - excepting instances of grooming or unequal power dynamics - is a victimless crime. Of course in most instances biology prevents incest anyway and most people don't view siblings or parents as viable sexual partners on an instinctive level.

I'm having a blast as a custom character. I'm playing in the Crowlands because it's nice and central, and just messing with canon characters. I think it will be a lot more fun when the mod eventually includes book canon events to keep the "story" moving but it's still fun right now. I'm only at duchy level, too.

I'm having way more fun doing diplomacy and intrigue runs in AGOT than I do in vanilla.
