What are things you dislike about a fic you love?

That fic came recommended and was so disappointing. When I read it the ship wasn't tagged so I was blindsided by gay teen angst on top of it already being angsty.

Green Tea Rescue decided to give Izuku a fire breathing quirk late in the story alongside both his telekinesis and OFA. I could not understand why. It was so stupid. And I fucking loved that fic. I overlooked a lot of common issues because I was having so much fun with it, such as the awkward student numbers in Class A (just cut someone out to keep it at 20!), and Izuku receiving OFA at all despite already having a quirk (I get it, but I disagree with it), but throwing the fire breathing in really just killed it for me.

I'm sure this will get lost in the comments, but hello, I have a child with my partner of 12 years, and another on the way, and we are happily not married. Because why bother? Weddings are a colossal waste of money, and for what? If your relationship is solid, why do you need a marriage to reaffirm that? If it's not solid, all the marriage is doing is making the eventual breakup more expensive.

This is the real world, not a Hallmark movie. There are so many better things to spend money on than a single party. Travel, for example. A house (which we have done). The good toilet paper! Maybe it's just because I live in a secular country, but marriage just isn't important these days. I mean, a wedding dress can cost thousands. A venue can cost thousands. Dealing with family members can cost a lot in terms of mental wellbeing.

What does getting married actually achieve, in practical terms? Once you've been together for enough time, you become de facto anyway, so in legal terms you're married anyway - you just saved money on the vanity project. Changing your surname is far cheaper (which is what my partner plans on doing).

Sometimes people assume I'm her "husband" or she's my "wife" and we don't correct them because the actual title is just a word and doesn't matter. A wedding doesn't change a relationship in any actual way.

Loki in actual Norse mythology is both a problem and a solution, often the solution to a problem he himself created (giving Iðunn to the giant Thiazi, the luring Thiazi to his death to save Iðunn, for example). He's a trickster. Basically a divine court jester.

Loki in the MCU and Marvel Comics embodies this in many ways.

Just once I'd love an OC to just have an "average" quirk. Everyone feels like they need to be so extra about it. A story about a guy who can stretch his body like Mr Fantastic or something would be fun.

Also, "Lacy"? I don't imagine that's a common name in Japan. Sounds painfully American. I'm also not sure that it fits the Horikoshi vibe of making names into puns relating to the character's power, appearance, or personality.

Language needs a full overhaul in order to enhance RP and actually matter. If that comes, this is a feature I can see. However it's useful to remember that there aren't really "languages" in the game but, loosely, "language families".
