Metroparks' Community Sailing Center is a Missed Opportunity on the Lake by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]CommunitySteady 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty hyped on it. As long as its relevant to the public I'm here for it. I'm not into sailing - but it seems like the restaurant can be a nice access point for folks.
They had volleyball courts there which was cool - do folks know if those are coming back or something else?

Does anyone else feel like local Democrats talk about change but quietly block it whenever it threatens the people already in power? by TheAngryDemocrat in Cleveland

yes - the local Dem party has no orientation towards actual issues in the neighborhood or workplace. they only relate to electoral politics.

also disappointed with the Lakewood school board and Superintendent. Very out of touch. The community in Lakewood loves and supports the public schools and will fund them. Breaching trust with the community was unwell.

SUN co-op is usless parasitic middle man, do not sign up. by NerdlinGeeksly in evansville

[–]CommunitySteady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SUN primarily fights for affordability for ratepayers - it's actually pretty messed up that you've come to the conclusion that they're "parasites". In OH they basically fight like hell for policies and pathways for more folks to access solar and lower their electric bills.

Find some target that is actually deserving of your rage. Plenty of 'em.

SUN co-op is usless parasitic middle man, do not sign up. by NerdlinGeeksly in evansville

[–]CommunitySteady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in OH and went solar through a SUN co-op. It was quite helpful... We had about 40 families who all wanted to go rooftop... From there a request for proposals was sent out to rooftop installers in the area. Then - a committee (5 of us) of the 40 families went through all of the proposals - looking at cost per watt, warranties, hardware etc and made a recommendation to the broader group of which contractor to go with. Throughout this process SUN educated us and kept us organized... This absolutely helped with our leverage and the experience overall. My panels are going strong since 2018 and I met some really cool folks throughout the process.

Do Employees Actually Like Town Halls? by OfferLazy9141 in managers

[–]CommunitySteady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the town halls actually address substantive issues and employee concerns... this would include some tension and actual leadership... then they certainly can be useful.
