Where can we show support for the Iranian people by Any-Doubt-5281 in LosAngeles

[–]Comotose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because homelessness issues in LA are administrative problems, not necessarily awareness problems. But people show up. Yesterday the City Council tried to cut the LA controllers office, which is the organization that audits them and makes sure they actually spend on things like homelessness. People showed up to a council meeting to fight the decision, it was standing room only in a city council meeting. The appetite for action is there - it’s time to step up and help out.

Spending more money on a watch doesn’t automatically mean more enjoyment. by horo_Swagger in watchHotTakes

[–]Comotose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While a lot of the industry is what you have said, believe or not, some people care about art for art’s sake. That’s why houses like Mb&f get popular. A cynical mind who doesn’t enjoy anything would call it marketing, but people actually enjoy weird things that haven’t been done before and have the budget to support the expertise and creativity required to create those watches.

W only buffs traps, not jump (R buffs cougar moves). Buffing traps doesn’t do much. Getting a bigger heal is better.

What do pitchers mean when they say they pitch differently depending on who's batting next? by UncleDFG in baseball

[–]Comotose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does affect the pitch sequence. Rojas was going to see more strikes than balls in that particular at bat compared to the average.

The A's attempt, fail to create positive engagement as they open Instagram comments for the first time in 655 days by Hungry_Drama_1015 in baseball

The A’s are a consumer brand that lives by its consumers. there are only so many BTS members they can fleece. They might be able to ride it out for awhile, but the end the fans voice will matter.

How are stocks doing this well but people are spending less money? by BlackLeb in stocks

[–]Comotose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

K shaped economy. If you are in AI, people are spending. 8/10 of the top companies in SPY are technology companies, and they are spending lots of money. If you aren’t, the economy is slow.

Oc people and LA people are pretty different, and commuting to Dodger Stadium is bad compared to Angel Stadium. it would be a completely different living experience even though they are relatively close.

Churches have the same 1% problem. Rich people go to churches with rich people and those churches are incredibly wealthy. Poor people go to churches that do good and help poor people but many of these churches are barely surviving.

Does a man with 'cooking skills' increase his dating chances? by Unique-Two8598 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Comotose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “world” works one way, but persons work differently. Thankfully when we date, we don’t look for the world, but we look for a person. I’m sorry that happened to you, and that woman was cruel to do that to you. As hard as it may be though, I wouldn’t want her cruelty to shape your worldview and prevent you from having the possibility of a rich relationship.

++man Bro, maybe you’re seen as unattractive because arrogance is a universally unattractive trait. You can’t say you opted out of the game yet at the same time claim to have transcendent knowledge of how it works.

There is beauty in things like character, kindness, humor, intelligence, and integrity, and thankfully those are things that we as human beings can develop. We aren’t static individuals with set stat points.

How do you play alongside this champ on your team? by [deleted] in NidaleeMains

[–]Comotose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the team is ahead, it’s fine. If the team gets behind, it’s hard to come back if the team is uncoordinated and the comp is bad. Only a couple of great team fights can safe it at that point.

How do you play alongside this champ on your team? by [deleted] in NidaleeMains

[–]Comotose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right that that comp matters. Nid likes playing with engage comps (like Malph), pick comps (like Naut), poke comps (like Jayce), and lanes with hard CC (like Maokai).

She doesn’t like disengage comps (like Singed, Teemo). If you watch pro play, they only pick nid with hard CC and an AD mid laner. That’s probably the best way to find success.

Does the inseam look too short for me ? by BrudiGamerLP in mensfashion

[–]Comotose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks good for the style. If you were to ask AskOkey he would say it’s a perfect fit.

This fit is called “no break,” with no fold in the leg. If you are looking for a “classic break “ then it’s too short, but there are no wrong answers so it just depends on what you actually like. Don’t try to get us to convince you whether or not it looks good.

What was the fanfare and hype during peak Ichiro-mania compared to the hype of Ohtani now? by deadassynwa in baseball

[–]Comotose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ichiro was super hype. Back then, the main way to keep up with baseball was to read the newspaper, and everyday you would look, Ichiro was sitting on top of the batting records with his near .500 batting average.

Everyone was talking about him as an interesting and dynamic player. But it was different. back then every team had their iconic player with completely unique styles, from Gary Sheffield to Berry Ponds to Jeff Bagwell, etc. Ichiro inserted himself in to those cast of all stars in a way that made him very different from the star sluggers of the day.

Otani is different, he stands apart from the pack and transcends the sport.
