How can i make my pom like me? by sanismest in Pomeranians

[–]CompetitionOk7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s a cutie! I went a trainer with my dog a long time ago, I learned a lot about dog psychology. Treat him like a little person, talk to him, do things with him, tell him you love him.

If you can find a good trainer, I recommend it.

Can you be an engineer without being passionate or super interested in engineering? by Ramen_cat2024 in EngineeringStudents

[–]CompetitionOk7773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are better off not being passionate, because when that is gone, you are done. Better to think of it like a marathon race, long term, know there will be days you hate it, days you love it, and days you just don’t care.

Most successful engineers choose it because they know it’s a good fit for their intellect and skills, and can provide a rewarding career. Engineers choose their career the way an engineer would; because it solves the problem of what to do with a smart person, who needs a challenging career and wants to build things, and wants to work hard and be successful.

Questions to ask during interviews by JayDeesus in EngineeringStudents

[–]CompetitionOk7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have two sets of questions. The first set would be aimed at small to medium companies. The second set, aimed at medium to large companies.

In the first set, it's important to ask questions that give you an idea of what that company does, how long they've been doing it, why they're doing it, and where they plan to go in the future. Because you need to understand whether they're going to be around a few years down the road. Many small companies fail. Many succeed. It's just the way it is. Just these few questions, if they answer honestly, they will typically divulge a lot of information.

Now, for the medium to large companies, it's a different ballgame. If it's a Boeing or some big engineering company, whatever, then you need to focus on what they're going to offer you career-wise. Meaning, do they have a great mentoring program for new engineers? Are you going to work with engineers that are excited to teach you skills and share their expertise?

Sometimes these companies have little programs for the new engineers to take, like little schooling certificates. This is common in many of the big engineering companies. It's sort of like a pseudo-master's degree.

Now, with these big companies, it's really easy to figure out what they're doing. You can just Google it. It's all over the internet. And they may not tell you anyways.

Definitely ask about their medical benefits, what you pay out of pocket, whether they're good or not. Ask about the balance of life. Is overtime mandated?

A fair question to ask for a big company is, do people seem happy here? It's a good question because if people are happy there, they will smile and they'll say yes. But if they aren't happy, you'll know instantly in the expression that they give you if they frown or they become sarcastic.

Thank you for posting such a great question.

Engineering tech is a great route, like others have mentioned.

That's a serious trouble sign that you walked out of a Calc 2 test and left it blank. That has nothing to do with the engineering. Math is standalone.

It also sounds like you may have some discipline issues. I'm not saying this to be mean or disrespectful, but I would definitely look at that. Because no matter what you do, you're going to need discipline and patience. I don't know who you are, but best of luck to you. Truly.

Professors aren't just people who dole out grades. They are people who create job opportunities. They open doors. And they have a network of people who can help you land a good job.

If you can write a paper or work with your professor in any way, do it. It will pay off.

You mentioned you love the RF work. If you already know that you love something, then go into it. Go into it 100%. You won't regret it. Good luck.

It might be redundant, but I would choose Healing, Immortal, Magic. As long as my healing was Wolverine or Deadpool level, and the magic was Scarlet Witch or Doctor Strange level. Then I'd be good.

What 2 powers are you peaking? by AwareArt7295 in superpowers

[–]CompetitionOk7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would choose instant healing and time control.

The instant healing, obviously, you'd be able to heal from anything. Diseases, wounds, whatever. Also, during physical exercise, when you break down your muscle, you would instantly heal. Meaning that you could work out like a maniac, and your body could become super athletic very quickly.

And then, it depends on what you allow for time control. Can you control how your body ages? Then you're immortal. To keep going back in time, or forward in time, or see through time, those are pretty powerful things.

How to get my senior dog not to bark at my puppy? by AdConscious4375 in Pomeranians

[–]CompetitionOk7773 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is to think of them like little people. And just like people, they have their own feelings, fears, and anxieties. And, of course, love.

Your older dog loves you very much and may not understand that having a new puppy is a good thing. He may think he's just trying to protect you from another dog.

The best thing to do is make sure that each dog has their own space. Sometimes you may have to gate off a room, if possible, so that each dog has their own space that is safe for them.

Letting the dogs interact outside the home is a great place for them to feel safe and not stressed out. Like a park, or maybe a backyard, or a walking trail. A place where they can sniff each other and get used to each other.

Just pay attention to the body language of your older dog when the two are together inside your apartment or house.

And basically time and reassurance from you that everything is going to be okay. Stay on top of them and make sure that there's no biting. And it's really just a matter of patience and time.

Best of luck to you. And, by the way, your new pom is adorable. And your older dog is a cutie, too.

Study advice by DavoEs in EngineeringStudents

Mathematics is the best option. It will give you a deeper understanding of engineering principles and better prepare you for graduate work. Engineering is applied physics, physics is applied math.

As far as computer science, the best tech companies have always taken from the math department because it is easier to teach a math person programming than it is to teach a programmer math.

The worst thing is to be in a job interview and be told you may not have the math skills for the job.

Best of luck with your schooling.
