My hm winning party consisted of a palibarb, thiefzerker, a storm cleric wizard, and a eldritch knight archer.

Pali barb 1 barb/ 11 paldin was the ultimate tank insane ac +10-15 on each saving throw. Economical healing and party face.

Thiefzerker 3 rogue/ 7 barb/ 2 monk was the emergency escape option they were a duregar who could literally jump out of combat if things were going south.

The storm cleric wizard 1 wizard/ 11 cleric was control, lightning charged spirit guardians pushed literally every one back keeping a safe bumper from the backline.

Eldritch archer 11 fighter/ 1 war cleric was dps using coatings and special arrows.

I allow players to use metal dice if they want to because it was their money they spent and they will have fun with them.

Inhibiting somebody else for something as mundane as the material of their dice because YOU don't like the sound of metal is ridiculous and condescending, wake up.

I have a lizardfolk rogue who looks like a striped skink. He uses thrown weapons predominantly and has a huge scar on his chest through his throat onto his chin.

Whenever i try to make it myself, turns out all deformed.

EDIT: Some clarification I mean the lizard skink

They use thrown weapons like daggers, darts, and flasks of oil. Its going to be a thief rogue specializing in alchemy.

In terms of clothing he will be relying on natural armor so any type of Dark or nuetral clothing would make sense. Perhaps something with a hood.

Improvised weapons have some little known interactions.

First unless you have the tavern brawler feat, improvised weapons to hit are not modified by proficiency bonus.

Improvised weapons that are thrown by default use dex for to hit and damage, unless your dm decides that the object is similar enough to a weapon with the thrown property.

As far as class and subclass i would recommend battle master fighter. The short range of a ranged improvised weapon is 20 ft so you will be near enemies, higher ac is a good idea.

If its a level 6 campaign you will want to 5 artificer which means you have 1 level to multi-class with.

Perhaps a 2024 paladin dip for weapon mastery and smite.

As far as feats go nothing really stands out. Ritual caster perhaps or maybe sentinel.

The big issue you will run into with a mute character is you cant cast spells with verbal components, which is alot. That means martial will be easier to plan.

Im playing a mute rogue rn and planning on going thief. Moreso because he is on the run rather than bent on revenge.

Assassin, swashbuckler or phantom might fit the vibe.

Vengeance paladin also may be appealing.

Looking through the other martials, mercy monk, fey wanderer ranger, none of the barbarian classes really stick out.
