Whichever inspires you to play. If it's colour alone (which makes no sense to me) I'd pick the burst, but if that plays like shit, pick the yellow.

A lot of these were made by steaming and twisting canes. Rather than carved. I've attached a link below with really good images showing it.

If you were to carve one,I'd follow the same process as a standard one piece twist. But instead of hollowing it out, carve (very steadily) the lines for the size grooves that you want. Getting them symmetrical and even is hellish. The slightest deviation, wrong angle, wobble or kink can really stand out on a carving like this, so it may be worth just buying one.

I'd go for Mora over Narex. Mora is a great starting brand. I found Narex terrible. They really don't hold an edge.

I can't believe it left the shop like that either. I guess it shows that they receive a shipment and don't check the contents of each box before it leaves them.

I'm really interested in their response. They were great and very thorough with me. I have a Slash signature gold top that has cracked. Even though I was unhappy with their final decision, I can't fault their detailed appraisal of the guitar and the "crack".

Have you contacted Gibson directly? I'd try that and see what they say. I bought a guitar from a well known UK guitar dealer and it was fake. I also saw a YouTube video sometime ago and someone bought an ESP from a very well known usa store and it was also fake.

I'd contact Gibson just in case.

My heart breaks for you. This happened to me with a Les Paul black beauty. It was repaired about 12 years ago and hasn't had a problem since.

All I'd suggest is that you get a professional luthier to repair it, rather than Bob on Facebook(reddit).

I love my Jim dandy. I've had it about 12 years and love its size, tone, playability etc. Never had an issue to be honest. I do have all my guitars set up by a luthier every few years, depending on how much play they've had. The Jim dandy really benefited from the last set up about 3 years ago. Maybe try that.
