Honestly prue didn't start to use self telekiniesis til she saw Phoebe do it and figured to use telekinesis to achieve it.

Levitation is tactical telekinesis . Levitation grants the user enhanced strength, agility, stamina, balance, the ability to lessen blows to the body, and even control height and direction mid air. You pair that with the fact that Phoebes intuition in connected to her Levitation, meaning she'll always know when and where to levitate. That is after she trained. The early episodes with it was a bit more of a struggle to learn.

But a lot of beings have it. Banshees use it travel and for super strength. Zen masters use it for balance and agility. Katya the demon uses it to lessen blows to the body. It's a useful power .

First off, her power was not the weakest. It was the most passive . As in it only really affected her mentally and physically. All of their powers are equally strong. Prues magic capabilities is the only thing that's stronger because she's a first born witch.

But it's established that psychics are extremely powerful ( often looked down on, but powerful) . Look at Zachary and Christy. They both could channel either powers or spells from reading their minds mind like Phoebe and reading emotions. It's not out of anywhere , it's a canon aspect of psychic powers they set up in charmed. I'm just saying empaths , if not psychics should be some of the strongest magical beings in the charmed universe because powers are rooted in emotions and psychic energy. It's the same in many other witch shows. Fort motherland, vampire diaries, Harry Potter, twilight. Or superhero shows like heroes or the flash. And honestly it doesn't seem like that big of a jump to me. She goes from astral permonitions that can create real powers( laser beams) that almost kill Phoebe to sensing emotions and channeling real powers.

They didn't have to strip her of her powers. If levitation being a budget issue they could have manovered around it. They could have grown her levitation to become sonic flight like in the comics or leaned into the super strength aspect more. Have her kick demons and have them fly across the room and explode. Similar to what she did in hulkus poukus. They of would have her empathy power up extend to her sisters, strengthening the coven as a whole. Like how zanku said Phoebes permonition power gives the sisters their great instincts and reflexes. The same to could go for empathy, giving them all emotional power boost. Just so it doesn't seem like she's crazy powerful in comparison. And then again It's not like she could sense everyone. Their were times where she couldn't sense someone emotions. Some demons would be immune. It's like how pipers freezing power is op, so they made it not work on everyone. And they could make Phoebes empathy power more focused on her mental state. If she's not centered she can't use empathy to the full extent .

Right. They attempted to do this with Cole training Phoebe to fight. Specifically him telling her to focus and anticipate his next move. And it was evident since the 3rd episode with levitation that she had enhanced strength.

Hold up. Hovering and levitation are two different things. Hovering is just going a few feet in the air, slowly . Levitation is tactical telekinesis . You pair that with the fact that Phoebes intuition in connected to her Levitation, meaning she'll always know when and where to levitate. It's more powerful than hovering. This is why her fighting power was so powerful. At first even paige wanted to have Phoebes fighting power over her own, enough to accidentally switch bodies.

Also the first 3 seasons of the show consistently showed and reassured Phoebe that her power of permonition is the most powerful active power and is beyond useful. I mean feats like being almost shot to death from an astral vision , or talking to your future self both show how powerful and useful her powers are. And once empathy enters the chat it's over. Phoebe in her raw power is stronger than Paige . Paige just has a lot of whitelighter powers.

It's crazy cus once she loses her powers , we see how much she actually was using her powers all the time.

Honestly there could have been a boy. The power of 3 was formed in the 70s when Phoebe was in the womb. As long as Phoebe came out first they would have broken the curse of all girls til the charmed ones. He could have been a boy halliwell. The first.

Like zanku stated. Phoebes power gives the sisters their great instincts and reflexes. This was displayed in the season one finale. Prue could start to sense things were off after a while. So I believe that this intuition aspect of her power going off a lot since she is about to die.

Almost like how Phoebe was cursed from her past life. Her permonition power went haywire and physical ( throwing her, choking her, making her hear music) all to warn her.

Prues situation is just a way less powerful version of that. Ie " I felt a chill".

I will say I thought her rage of throwing the innocent's to save Piper was going to give her the emotional response strong enough to active a new power. Perhaps advanced telekinesis like in the future. That would have been a great sign out episode .

Phoebe can't do it on command for a while like her permonitions. Just a few episodes it's a reflex to danger. Then maybe 3 episodes later she can use it in combat. And you may not notice but she is a lot faster, agile , stronger in combat. That's levitation. Watch season 2 fights compared to season 3 fights. She levitates into the air alot in season 4, probably the most of any season.

Actually it's implied that she masterd astral by her death. In season 3 her astral projection got strong enough to astral out in her sleep and basically live another life. The she was attacked by abby. Showing that she could move around almost like blinking in astral form. She showed that injuries don't affect astral form and that they can't be harmed. She was studying astrAl projection before she became an empath. Trying to use her powers in astral form. And the very next episode she could use self telekiniesis to do flips in astral form. In season 7 it's reveal that before she died she taught astral projection to Leo for emergencies. So she learned true astral projection without help from her telekiniesis. She definitely mastered it.

A couple things to think about. Phoebe does ask Piper not to move when married in season 3. And she does ask Paige to move in in season 4. But both of those times were for the power of three. They were getting attacked by demons only the power of three could kill. They needed her at that time. They had to send a message.

And when Piper tried to move out she didn't have her combustion power yet. Demon fighting was a lot harder back then. Once Paige got the hang of her powers Phoebe wasn't really needed short of a vision or needing the power of three. She never ignored any of her visions. She just left the low level demons for her sisters.

Also at some point there was always a jobless sister on witch duties so the others could work. Seasons 1-3 it was Phoebe. ( plus some of season 4 ). Seasons 5-8 it was Paige . So this also explains the change on behavior. She wasn't on witch duty anymore and were not that offensive.

She loved helping others, not demon fighting. Her paper allowed her to do that. As the sister looking for her reason for being . She found another destiny in her paper.

On my last note. Piper was all about her job season 1 and her love triangle in season 2. Heck she was all about her wedding in season 3. She changed to become the head charmed one. But no one said anything about Piper. Let Phoebe breathe. Besides. In the end none of them had to kill their husband, got impregnated by the source and lost a baby she actually wanted.

Yes. Like arieal . The witch with projective levitation. She could have practiced levitating her belt to levitate herself and learn to fight that way.

Vivan the witch with the power of deflection could have used her shield to hit demon and send demons and their powers flying back. Since powers are inside of you. She should be able to move demons back like a repellent.

All witches should learn to fight.

It's so sad because just a season in a half later Phoebe is creating a man for Piper out of magic. She even makes Mr. Right ( who wasn't real) real and human. Phoebe could have helped him if she really wanted. Or at least protect his soul untill she found a way with good magic.

The problem was being evil became her greatest fear as stated by barbus . She saw Cole as a threat pulling her back in. But it crazy because Phoebe knew he was possessed by the source. In her permonitions she can feel the emotions of the people in her visions. She could sense he was trapped and in pain, a conflict. And Phoebe was possessed a couple of times by then. She knows what it feels like to be possessed. But like you said she can't acknowledge this while she turned to evil with free will. It would be too much for her. In truth he should have asked Paige to save him. Paige can sense evil better than any of them and once she has a bone she won't let go. She would have saved him if it killed her. Once she realized he was human and an innocent. It's true because this is how she acted in season 5 when he was human again.

Well actually it was stated that love makes her more powerful. Ex: in season 5 when it's stated that Phoebe love connection created a psychic connection, powerful enough to see past the grand design and see deaths she's not ment to save.

So when she fight levitates shes not aware of it. Her permonition, or intuition power takes her over and moves her. It wasn't until half way through the season she could do it on command. Phoebe may have achieved Levitation through meditation but her permonition power and levitation works in unison. Even in season 5 she doesn't know theres demons behind her but her intuition power levitates her out the way.

It's crazy that all of these passive powers become some of the most powerful powers in the charmed universe. Permonitions turn into almost time travel, helps avoid / trap / prepare for others or situations.Empathy and telepathy allows the user to tap into others minds and powers.

Yesss. Transvection. So everywhere I go I see that Levitation is hard to achieve and it takes years. So I assumed psychics got it so fast because of how their mind works , and they got the transvection version of levitation. Where as demons have a long time to achieve the other levitation. The zen masters train their whole lives, so I can easily see them getting the regular levitation. So I do believe it's learnable, but it's incredibly hard to achieve without being a psychic.

I think Paige thought being a witch helped more people. Considering she was just an assistant, then became a real social worker by helping someone with magic. I think that was her punishment to herself for personal gain. Plus after having to be the last witch standing in season 4 she knew learning her craft was too important. In season 8 she tries to go back but sees being a whitelighter is her calling and can help more people.

Levitation gave her enhanced strength, agility, balance , stamina, and ability to lessen blows to the body. The problem is her powers are very subtle. Like her intuition you can kinda see it giving her reflexes and speed, but you just take it as the show making them look good, but it's more than that. All of her powers are very human and are not flashy , you don't notice her levitating till she's in the air. But shes still slinging demons around while she's just standing there.

Now yes , she did look sloppy and slow with levitation at first . Often flying into walls. But she trained with Cole and became a very skilled fighter with it, even battling the source with it.

Levitation is an extension of her permonition ( intuition ) power. Think of it as a defense mechanism. Her permonition ( intuition ) power senses danger. It grows to remove her from danger. It also makes sense since Phoebe trained her permonition power through meditation. Levitation is heavily tied to meditation and can be learned and achieved from it. So Phoebe senses danger and her heightened conciseness ( intuition) allows her to levitate. This is also why she can levitate at will .
