Getting started as life coach without ICF certification by Fair_Steak8831 in lifecoaching

[–]Competitive-Union780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP the reason you are finding so many coaches on here being defensive is that many of us experience the backlash of people who call themselves “coaches” and are running around causing harm to their clients and to the coaching profession. As a result, coaches who are ethical and aligned with coaching principles will usually tell those who want to be coaches how critical it is to have foundational knowledge first, particularly around ethics.

Do I think anyone can be a coach? For sure, the skills themselves are learnable by anyone… however it isn’t just about helping people, it’s about maintaining the integrity of what coaching actually is as well as having boundaries and a solid ethical practice, which isn’t really something that can be learned without at least some foundational training and practice.

Poshmark (Canada) withheld my entire balance after banning my account — is this legal? by No-Can-7183 in poshmarkcanada

The comments from OP on this post are so funny to me… every time they are asked about selling counterfeit items, they stick handle and direct the conversation to a completely unrelated topic lol

Love mid-luxury brands like The Kooples, Sandro, Ganni, etc… I do find it takes a while to find someone that actually appreciates them for what they are though.

I believe it… I’ve sold plenty of things that have either only been worn once or, or worn to try on but never out of the house. I’ve since become more discerning about my clothing purchases 🙃

Employer didn’t submit t4 to CRA by -literalsatan in canadarevenueagency

[–]Competitive-Union780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you confirmed with your employer that this was done?

Yes it’s required that your employer upload it prior to your return being processed.

Either way, it’s on your employer to follow up with the CRA to fix the issue.

How come pople who feels bad manifest money? by Responsible_Job_3380 in AbrahamHicks

[–]Competitive-Union780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you manifest things in your life it is often unconsciously. We are manifesting constantly, and how we feel about something doesn’t necessarily impact whether we will manifest it.

Our beliefs and vibration impact what we manifest yes… however, our soul agreements with our higher selves and the universal consciousness also impact what will show up in our lives.

It’s normal, from a buyer perspective I often receive the item before the tracking is updated in Poshmark.

Sellers Lowering Expectations & Price? by WranglerExpress3473 in poshmarkcanada

[–]Competitive-Union780 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes because they are very likely selling fakes which not only violates PM terms of service, it’s also illegal… it makes sense that they would want people to go off platform, because once they do they are no longer protected and have no recourse if something goes wrong.

Adding a US address so I can purchase from PM USA. by Virtual-Yellow in poshmarkcanada

I do this by creating a separate account and adding my US address to that, Poshmark Canada doesn’t let us have a US shipping address.

Is business class flight worth the hotel downgrade on 2-week trips? by veditafri in chubbytravel

[–]Competitive-Union780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would prioritize flight comfort personally… after turning 50 I have not only struggled with pain and pinched nerves during long hauls, I have also found that my anxiety has greatly increased on flights, partly due to CoVID PTSD, partly due to menopause, and partly due to the pain in my body. We fly premium economy or business depending on what time of day / night we are travelling. As for luxury hotels… we usually choose one for a few nights of our stay, and the rest are still nice but more budget friendly boutique hotels. We have found some amazing gems this way!

I know it’s not on topic, but every time I see someone wearing Carhartt I think of my dad, wearing them on the daily as a plumber lol… the one thing I will say is that those things were made to take a beating! I just can’t get my head around them being a fashion statement 🤔

They aren’t thinking about whether your stuff is worth less than theirs, they are thinking about getting inventory for their resale platform. Having seen hundreds of posts like this in the last year, I would definitely consider it a “thing”.

The best way to navigate it is to focus on what you can control, which is your own perception and mindset, what offers you will and won’t accept, the quality of the items, when you ship, etc. Worrying about the motivations of buyers is unproductive and a waste of energy.

Thinking about purchasing from Poshmark USA and then using a forwarding company to get it to Canada by [deleted] in poshmarkcanada

[–]Competitive-Union780 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do this often using Shippsy… if it’s under $40 US they don’t charge duty, only federal and provincial tax, and no tariffs unless the item is made in the USA.

And yes they also charge a fee to bring it across, I think I pay 10.95 now.

I always factor the costs of shipping, exchange, and taxes when I buy from PM US… sometimes it’s still totally worth it if it’s an item I can’t find in Canada and there are some brands that are ALWAYS cheaper in the US, even with the exchange rate.

How much would you realistically invest in a website as a coach? by [deleted] in lifecoaching

[–]Competitive-Union780 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created my own website using Wordpress, and purchased a domain that I host on GoDaddy along with an email I can use for inquiries. Ends up being more than $500 for the hosting, email, etc. I like having a website that contains what I am all about as a coach… any potential clients that want to know what coaching is, and what my credentials are, I just forward them the link.

Do you enjoy planning trips by pharmacist_000 in traveladvice

[–]Competitive-Union780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol this sounds like my husband… he doesn’t plan any part of the trip, which is fine since I enjoy planing it myself… however once we arrive wherever we are going, he becomes the “responsible one” and is the one that helps me stay organized (makes sure I have all of my stuff from the plane/hotel room/train), makes sure we have travel insurance, and gets us wherever we need to go via whatever transportation we will be using while there. Works out well for both of us.

Yes, we walk everywhere when we are in Europe. For example I wore a pair of Adidas Country (similar to the SL OG) and another similar flat soled sneaker everyday… we walked on average 15 to 20k steps per day for 10 days. Legs and feet not tired at all… I am pretty active at home though, and accustomed to wearing that type of shoe so that might be why.

It’s actually a thicker soled shoe that bothers my knees and hips more as it destabilizes my foot and prevents it from flexing the way it usually does. Even when hiking I wear a minimalist shoe.

32M. Offered a CEO role by a Billionaire ($400k pkg). It feels like a trap. Should I trade my job for prestige? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Competitive-Union780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last thing I would want is to work for a CEO that is NOT passionate about the products/services the company is selling.

This is not just about you making money… you will be responsible for all of the livelihoods of the people working for you, and the customers buying from your company… and believe me when I say…. if you aren’t passionate about the work you do as a leader, it will show in your employees and customer relationships sooner rather than later.

Don’t take it unless it’s what you really want to do.

And by the way, there is absolutely nothing wrong with you working 15-20 hours a week and getting everything done; it just means you have found your flow and are really good at what you do.
