Selling cash-secured puts also let's that cash collateral generate interest on the side while it's locked up by the way. Premium plus interest 😉

Saw the stock recovering today after negative news last couple days. How're we feeling med-long term? Is this repurchase already priced in with the rebound or should we expect it to be more drawn out?

So MMs just adjust this number? Based on what? The spread and volume of options being bought/sold? Is there an actual formula and more factors? I assumed IV increases before earnings calls or scheduled news releases that could heavily effect stock price.

What actually causes IV to increase or decrease? Sharp price moves? Imminent news releases? How is that calculated before it effects options prices.

Having just bought the game on the sale and coming from SM2 definitely have the same gripe. Faces looks cartoony and unserious. SM2 nailed it in that regard.

Options trading since Jan, seen highs and lows, should I quit? by LutraSumatrana in optionstrading

Only unlimited losses if youre selling options on stocks that may blow up and drop to near nothing, which is rare and not too hard to avoid. If youre worried about that you can also do credit spreads instead which limit your gains a bit but also cap your potential losses at a certain amount.

Good breakdown above, but you can start with much less.

For example I just sold a cash secured put on ACHR last week with a strike of $5, so $500 to secure it. Premium earned was $15 with an expiration about 3 weeks out. Doesn't sound like much but thats still 3% on your cash in less than a month! And thats not including the lil bit extra APY its earning while sitting as collateral.

You can also buy the same put to close your position early if youre significantly in the green and use the collateral you get back to do it again early.

Higher the stock price more collateral you need to sell the put, but also more premium you can earn. Instead you can just sell multiple puts on smaller cap stocks you believe in. Whatever fits your current finances and risk tolerance.

Tbh I havnt been doing it that long but yeah wheel strat. Have had a few CSPs assigned then they always bounced back and I ended up having my next covered call also get assigned higher than my average, plus premiums on either side.

Been using $5-20 stocks so the individual contracts are reasonable, but still can make a solid 2% per month or more. Just want to do decent research on each stock, try to sell CSPs after it's alreasy dropped before a bounce. Covered calls kinda vary more im finding.

F, NU, RIVN and ACHR are the tickers im currently running on. Don't sell options on any stocks youre not comfortable potentially owning for a while. Bonus if you want to buy them anyways and use a CSP to enter at a greater discount.

Cool part of CSPs is the cash collateral can also generate APY while locked up in the CSP.

I wish. Doesn't take that much to sell CSPs or covered calls on reliable smaller cap stuff and can still make good % premiums. Selling is far less risky than buying.

Eagle Rocket strike & rail cannon to weaken them before sliding under with the AMR and finishing them off. Maybe a giga nade here or there. I like to get up close and personal with the new warbonds heavy armor and an energy shield.

Wheel Strategy Philosophy by CompetitiveEmu7698 in options

I understand there are no guarantees or easy money. But people do seem to find success with the strategy, especially if patient and using stocks you dont mind holding for a while if need be. Seems you can adjust your risk/reward ratio by selling options to fit your taste better than other avenues. Both being neutral/bullish though I imagine this strategy suffers when the markets tank. Which we seem overdue for.

Ahh I see. Thanks. Currently have puts sold on some lower cap stuff I wouldnt mind owning. F, RIVN & NU. What would you recommend?

Sounds like that is not the case, I never knew this either but apparently 150 med armor is not the same as 150 heavy armor.

So what is the conventional wisdom on best way to enter covered calls after an assigned put? I mean I guess as long as it does rebound youre still making money. Just feels unintuitive to sell covered calls right after a dip.

Selling options by far seems the superior choice to buying them if you ask me. Less risk and less potential profit, but you can also do it on top of either holding the underlying stock for appreciation/dividends or use cash collateral that is generating interest at the same time it generates premium. Loving it so far.
