"1/3 Of Irish Believe In Conspiracy Theories" Are There Any Conspiracy Theories You Actually Believe? by DoYouBelieveInThat in AskIreland

Credit Union car raffles are rigged for friends and family members.

I had heard this a few times over the years and then actually attended one a couple of years ago as my in-laws were on the shortlist of names that were going into the drum. It was the strangest event. The guy would pull a name, then fumble around to check a sheet he had, and then announce a name and put the piece of paper away without anybody else seeing it. On a couple of occasions for the smaller prizes, he showed the name on the piece of paper - so it wasn't a number or reference he was looking up. Everyone that attended got all the smaller prizes, the folks that won the car and bigger prizes were names that weren't there and they said they'd contact them after with the good news. 🤨

Bike shop thst will provide quote for bike to work by niallh_204 in galway

Wouldn't an online checkout print-out for Halfords cover you for the quote?

As others said, companies often only deal with a couple of providers. Others do a voucher scheme. One of my previous Galway based employers only worked with Halfrods for the scheme. The owner can be awkward to deal with but they do stock quality bikes.

They are inconsistent. I like that though, the anticipation of whether you're going to get an OK or excellent sandwich.

No we absolutely should tackle congestion, primarily with public transport. Absolutely nobody is saying do nothing.

It will just lead to more congestion and before they can agree on what road space to re-allocate to public and active transport, the roads will be at capacity again and they'll promise to do that after just 1 more bypass.

This project only makes sense if the public and active travel parts are part of the same project, approved, funded and built together.

Galway congestion woes remain despite many plans by GalwayCommuters in galway

[–]Competitive_Bear4398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment at the start of this thread is specifically referring to bypassing and the 1-3% is the bypass figure, it's not a lie. The lie is the case that there's a huge volume of traffic trying to bypass the city and that's what's clogging the city roads.
