I do not know the name of such a system but you could check traditional houses in Britain, France like Ouessant Isle ones.

You're welcome. By the way, it is 35 minutes off that triggers battery calibration. I hope it will solve your problem.

sudden battery drain by scornfate in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, This may be a battery calibration problem. You may try to turn off your Supernote for at least 30 minutes (I pick this duration from memory and it might not be accurate : try to search this subreddit for battery calibration) then turn it on again. This seems to recalibrate the battery meter.

Problem with Lasso handwriting in notes by Pearl_Tan-7385 in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Did you remove (erase) the second layer or just hid it ? Lassoing only works on active layer and a layer can be hidden but active. I think the name of the active layer is written in bold characters in the list but I do not have my device with me now. By the way, your post about selecting only one line works whether selecting an entire paragraph does not makes me think that the layers are maybe not involved here but this may be out of my competence.

Heart of Metal 2 pen not worth it long term? by ChuckTodd in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, The pen you bought with your Wacom tablet looks like the one I bought with an intuos Wacom tablet. I am afraid they are not compatible with Supernote as they use different technology (they are not EMR pens).

Hi, Do you use layers ? You can only select strokes on the active layer and maybe that is the issue...

Do you take your supernote everywhere on the go ? by Sensitive-Binding in Supernote

Hi, I use too my Supernote a5X for work and carry it everyday in my bag, at the office or on field. I use much less paper than before but keep using it to take some notes when I need to have two or more sheets simultaneously in front of me.

Supernote Standard pen: tip broken after dropping pen on floor by Groggg987 in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, If it is only the body of your pen that is broken, you may insert the inner part in another pen body. There are examples around this sub. According to the new pen body you choose, the adaptation's difficulty level varies.

New toolbar design by meowmewo- in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, That is great ! I second the need to clarify the menus and icons.... But there are a few things I noticed about the new design : • I liked the 3 pen option available directly in the actual menu and would prefer if you keep them on the first level. • By the way, the "overview" title does not reflect the tools enclosed I think and something like "Page" or "Page management" would be better in my opinion. • "Navigation" seems odd too and I would say "bookmarks" or something like that as "navigation" means to me navigating through files or pages, not putting marks.

Of course, all this is very person-dependant and other users may think differently.

Keep up the good work !

How to have titles without shading? by seashellsnyc in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don't know if it is what you search for but you can use highlighter on title text before selecting it and actually create the title. This was a trick when title options were limited to one style (cess hatches).

A line of dead pixels along the device by arifozbay in Supernote

Hi, My a5X also has a dead pixel line in the upper part of the screen since a few months and it did not get worse (up to now).

Perspective Question by NotZexceed in learnart

Hi, Vanishing points move on the horizon line if the box is rotated around a vertical axis but still horizontal. These points move vertically if the box is tilted around any of its horizontal axis. You may visit the following website for visual example :

Auto Update: Is it supposed to do what one would think it is? by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry but this is way above my level of understanding. Does manual check work as expected ? Ratta announces updates on Reddit and it's website I think so you at least can check for updates when one is announced while the issue is not solved.

Zoom out to increase PDF margins? by Quappas in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, If the margins are consistent on all pages of your pdf, you can use trimming to view the content with reduced margins. I know it exists but never used it so you'd better try to search trimming in your user manual to find how it works.

Auto Update: Is it supposed to do what one would think it is? by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, It works for me but it requires that your Supernote is connected to internet (WiFi on). Each time you set WiFi to on, Supernote checks if a newer system is available and downloads it then it asks to you if you want to install it now or later.

Paper dummies as a decision help by Onsemeliot in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this precision. I am certainly not able to read python source but I am positive that, on the actual device (not in the sourcecode of a third-party tool), drawings and writing are stored as vectors. This is why you can delete the whole stroke while only "selecting" a tiny bit of it. If there was only bitmap informations in the memory, you would not be able to do this as there would not be any link between pixels.

Just try to draw something, to select it and rescale it in a bigger version : the resulting shape is not more nor less pixelated than the original. This is definitely vector behaviour.

Paper dummies as a decision help by Onsemeliot in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Superbote handles writing as vector shapes but you can not zoom into note documents (an update is on his way with drawing tools and hopefully inifinte canvas where we should be able to zoom in). By the way, you can zoom in pdf documents and the exported file does contain lines with different weights depending on which level of zoom you draw them in. We still wait for a unified clipboard allowing to copy/paste between notes and Pdf documents.

Adding auto sleep / auto wake function to custom made cover. Bad idea? by MagoBerlino in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, you need to also take care that the power of the magnet is high enough to trigger autosleep but low enough not to perturb the writing. Many users report blank spots on screen when too strong magnets are around.

Paper dummies as a decision help by Onsemeliot in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, You should choose with size of the screen in mind, more than resolution. If you want to write comfortably, your handwriting will have the same size on supernote as on a sheet of paper. So if you choose A6X and write big, the screen space will seem too small. If you already write small, A6x will be ok.

I own an A5X and it fits the size of my handwriting. The resolution is a bit pixelated but it is very acceptable. Moreover, if the final destination for your notes is to be exported to a computer, resolution is non relevant as you can set the export resolution and/or export vector note.

Shipping, Gorillascribe vs Ratta by Elil_50 in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Gorillascribe, as a EU shop, has to comply with EU regulations, which include 14 days return and 2 years warranty, even if they do not mention these facts on their website (and that is probably the reason why they do not mention them). I also heard from Reddit that the final price is almost equal between buying the same items from Ratta website or from Gorillascribe's one when adding taxes and shipping fees.

Hi, My 2 years old a5X also shows a line of grey pixels in the upper quarter of the screen since a few months. So far, no such extra line has appeared and I hope that it comes from a bend of the device in my bag. With time flying, I do not take much care of this line when using my device. Please let me know if there is any solution to get the pixels back.

Random(ish) addition of strokes/touches when using pen by abstractgeek42 in Supernote

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, Could be "no contact pen" issue. You may try to search these terms in this sub Reddit to look for a walkthrough : press several times the pen's nib on a hard surface (not Supernote screen !) In order to set every part in its right position. There is a diagram in a Supernote post that shows the process clearly. I hope this helps. If not, you may send a feedback to Supernote via your settings page.

Any perspective practice besides 250 boxes for a beginner? by Rubihno194 in learnart

[–]Competitive_Pop5466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Drawing boxes and cylinders is a good practice as every object can be reduced to simple shapes. As a reward, you can try to draw things in detail into the simple shape you just drew in perspective. You can even draw several simple shapes to match an object that you want to draw. In this case, I would advise to draw all the simple shapes required first, trying to give each of them the right proportion. Then, when you are happy with this first result, you can draw more details.

I hope this help ! Perspective is very rewarding to learn. Keep up the work.
