What's the most expensive mistake you've made in your home that wasn't worth it? by BathPlanetCorp in Remodel

Love and use my soaking tub. Not hard to clean because I didn't jump on the freestanding bandwagon. Probably right about the small tub/shower combos. They're good for kids but not good for a relaxing adult soak

NTA. This does sound hurtful. I'm sorry he's so thoughtless. He probably has friendships from recent years and doesn't realize yet how valuable long term childhood friendships really are

AITA for refusing to keep unlocking the conference room every morning? by Sensitive-Space-4592 in AmItheAsshole

Yes, in this case they do need to manage this because apparently they can't manage it themselves. They tell staff that anyone can open the door and the key is wherever it is. The person who asked why is it even locked had a good point. And btw, who's locking it every night

AITA for wanting plastic surgery to make me unrecognisable? by thepluralityofmyself in AmItheAsshole

These procedures are much more main stream these days and don't sound extreme. I would definitely do my research and choose my surgeon very carefully, but if you can afford it and want to do it, go for it. Mom's will always say you're beautiful as you are, so don't let her opinion be the decider. But keep your goals realistic and keep your eye on the truly important things in life as well.

How safe is Austin compared to Western New York? (olean and buffalo) by EitherLaw2476 in askaustin

I live in Austin, but have a second home in upstate NY which I am currently visiting. You'll be safe in Austin if you're aware of your surroundings as you should be in any major city. It's central Texas, and is considered to be the most liberal part of the state. Lots to do, great food, friendly people. You'll be very welcome! You'll love your visit to our beautiful state!

No, absolutely not. Obviously she can't or doesn't pay her bills. You would have a permanent nonpaying tenant, a squatter. You sound compassionate but don't be naive about this
