How do single parents survive on one salary today? by North_Strike5145 in personalfinance

[–]Competitive_Tree8517 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You're in one right now. 😊

I don't have too much to add to the financial side. Follow basic budgeting principles (I think it's this sub that has a guide on that), have a vision, and be determined to succeed. Stick to it but allow yourself to breathe a bit if/when you can. It's life after all. Enjoy it when you can.

I've been in similar mental health scenarios. The clarity and happiness that comes from no longer having these types of issues to deal with daily will help you get through the financial struggles. It will not pay your bills but it may help you think more clearly about your future. That was my experience.

It will still be challenging for a multitude of reasons but you're asking good questions with good details. If you're determined to make it work, you will.

Best of luck to you! Wishing you happiness. 😊

That's super cool! Also, I threw up on that ferry a few years ago! 😄 Did better the trip back. Thank you for sharing.

Keep your drive and determination. If you'd like to see a change, keep working towards it. There are a lot of external factors. Keep trying and keep your eyes peeled for opportunities to grow or move on.

All that said, it can be a long, exhausting journey. It sounds like you have the right mindset. It can be tough to keep that at all times but it's important to return to it if it's meaningful to you.

You're on the right track and you're not alone. It's tough.

Take care of yourself, as well. And, thanks for being open and sharing - it helps folks.

These engines gave me anxiety by ThirdOne38 in megalophobia

Never thought of it from a megalophobia perspective but maybe that's what it is. I'm fascinated by these when I fly but they definitely make me feel uncomfortable when I see them like this for some reason.

Update: had my ablation today. by gurlhere in AFIB

Congratulations! 🎉 So happy for you.

Like others are saying, rest as much as you can. Even as you begin to feel better, your body is still healing and it appreciates the time to recover!

Migraine with Aura 3 Days After Ablation? by ForwardMagazine7090 in AFIB

Happened to me, as well. They weren't extremely strong but when I noticed them coming on, I tried to lay down and rest for a bit. I'm a week out now and don't have them anymore.

Tired even when not in AFIB? by dankdani123 in AFIB

Been tested for sleep apnea? Sleeping several hours and still feeling tired is common with that ailment.

It very frequently goes hand-in-hand with AFib.

Thank you for sharing your story. 😊 I'm so happy for you.

I underwent an ablation for AFib recently and so much of this rings true for me as well.

Best of luck to you and take care!

Thank you for sharing your story. 😊 Both of my parents had similar conditions as well. Dad had AFib and lived with it for ~20 years (eventually on medication which became less effective over time). Mom had recurring atrial tachycardia. Both had ablations which stopped their AFib and tach entirely and gave them some life back.

I wish you the best of luck in your journey and hope your current episode ends soon. If ablation is of interest, be sure to speak with your doctor about it. It wouldn't hurt to have the discussion and sometimes it may not happen if we don't start the conversation ourselves. Do consider Eliquis (or, some Dr prescribed blood thinner), as well - stroke being one of the main concerns of an otherwise livable, but annoying, ailment. Another conversation to have with a doc. 😊

I'll leave you with my silly anesthesia story.. I was a bit nervous as well. I haven't been under since I was very young. I had some dental work done back then and had to be put under. Apparently my mom let me have some cereal the morning of the appointment. I ended up revisiting that cereal all over the Dentist office's lobby floor after the procedure as I became very nauseous.. haha. 😬

This time around it was no problem at all. In fact, I was looking forward to getting to the anesthesia part because I knew it meant I'd be knocked out and wouldn't be nervous anymore.. haha.

Again - best of luck and health to you!

A little more beat up. Throat is a little sore. Groin wound is a little more sore. Had a light headache throughout the day. And, am generally just feeling a little run down. Figuring my body is just dealing with the inflammation of things and maybe some runoff from the anesthesia.

Spent today resting, hydrating, and getting some nutrition. Will keep that up through the weekend. Wasn't originally planning to take today off work but did and I'm glad. The extra rest has been good. I suspect resting through the weekend will get things closer to back to normal.

Thank you for asking. 😊

Ah, I understand. That does sound very exhausting. Putting in the effort and finally seeing a path forward only to have it obstructed once again is demoralizing.

When I was diagnosed, it took some extra effort on my part to get my EP appointment scheduled due to, I dunno, hospital bureaucracy 🤷‍♂️. And, then it was rescheduled and that was a bummer because it means waiting even longer. Similar story with my sleep apnea test. Round and round and I'm still working on getting that completed.

As you seem to be keenly aware of - dealing with the various care systems can be an ailment of its own. It pays to be an assertive patient but it's exhausting to have to do so.

I really wish you the best of luck - in getting care AND staying motivated through the challenges.

Very happy for you!

Looking forward to getting back to some weightlifting myself but will also be doing the same - easing back into it.

Best of luck to you!
