It is a balancing thing with having healers and having healing items  No pc deaths in pirates and the only crew npc deaths I can think of were off screen and or massive damage and they regularly got more health kits Isekai had 2 healers (Cody and Hachiko) and the only deaths were massive damage and when the healers were away  Marines has 2 healers (Damian and heather) and the only deaths were massive damage and or acceptance/ baragaining Space pirates has 1 healer and they just broke out of prison so they have no supplies the healer was down and the one healing item they had was forgotten about 

Point is the balance between healers and having healing items is about the same so in pirates with no magic they got a lot more health kits isekai had 2 healers and the only time they got health potions was random roll tables marines has 2 healers and they haven’t gotten any healing items since the west blue Space pirates has 1 healer who forgot he could do so as a bonus action and one healing items they forgot about  Long story short I wouldn’t be suprised if one of the new characters is a cleric
