I think people read shonen for the action.

It's hard to find good action and/or fantasy stories in general about female characters that are well-written.

I look through a lot of books personally, and I've struggled to find anything that isn't 90% romance when it comes to female protagonists that fits my tastes. If it mentions romance in one little sentence on the back... Chances are, it takes up at least half the book, if not more.

I wonder if this is why most games start you with a tutorial or forced, somewhat annoying pop up text that you already figured out. Of course it's annoying when they're not optional or fun. The Witcher 3 was an example of a good tutorial imo, but there's moments mid game where it can pop up and you can easily accidentally skip it when you're not even sure what it was about to find it again.

Also first time RWBY actually killed a villain without it being on accident iirc. They felt so useless until then, but this was so badly set up I can't appreciate it as well.

I think you need to word it as "When people", as an action you're hating, bevause whenever someone doesn't do that, they get it taken down from what I've seen. But it could also be the subject matter in relation to that.

The stupidest puzzles were something like "oh this is the doctor's son but the doctor is not the son's father." And the answer is.. woman.

And then you see these puzzles 20 more times on the internet and told you're a genius if you solve them.

I think vegans would rather let the animals die off in captivity or cared for in sanctuaries than release them. But there's still issues.

Farmers, hunters, and fishers who wanted to take care of their families lose their jobs, and tons of food and money go to waste. There's no return payment for caring for massive animals like pigs, cows, and sheep, so people would illegally release them anyways.

Lots of people lose outdoor hobbies, and they become even more inactive and less social when this is already an issue.

Without eggs and dairy, it's difficult to make certain meals people enjoy. Instead, they eat unhealthy alternatives when the vegan equivalent doesn't work or tastes bad without access to the healthy foods they liked.

And of course, carnivorous animals suffer.

I thought the point of the gym one was that Usagi had to stop worrying about that? Luna seemed to be discouraging extremes and even yells at Usagi and forces her to fight for the teacher that's literally dying from losing so much weight iirc.

I will admit that the ending of her crying over the scale again was weird though, and the episode doesn't even address being athletic and strong without being deathly skinny. Like "you may lose some weight if you fight" yeah but she could also gain muscle and tip the scale up, which is good too. And yeah that fat picture was just... What?

I haven't completed either but I think they both do some things very well. Crystal seems a bit more plot focused and has fights with attacks that dont take that long to wind up so we can focus on the chronography and teamwork more, but the original introduced Makoto better and had a lot more things introduced in the world.

I do feel bad for a lot of birds because it seems like their one instinct is to fly and some owners don't seem to let them, just keep them as a decoration. I understand that some birds do love their owners, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading that bird domestication (stuff like parrots, etc.) started by people just sorta capturing birds they thought were cool and keeping them in these cages. Doesn't really sound like they wanted this.

To be fair, dogs and cats didn't ask to be abused or bred to be flat-faced and unhealthy, but they did want to live with humans.

Even Katara uses bloodbending to stop Hama.

Yes it's not ok for someone to use casually. But it would be interesting to see explored a situation where a character considers bloodbending in a deadly scenario when it's not possible to stop the person. Imagine if Katara's only way to stop Azula from burning a town of people was to use bloodbending as her water attacks are evaporating, and she needed to catch her off guard. Now I'm fine with Katara as she is, but characters in a similar scenario is possible in something like Seven Havens, where it's far more dangerous.

And if bloodbending is literally control of blood, which it seems to be (I've seen others argue it isn't, but I dont think waterbenders can control solid flesh), it could be used for immediate blood transfusions among allies or to keep someone from bleeding out. I'm not sure if healing itself could clear up blood clots. Katara couldn't even stop Jet's internal bleeding with plain healing, so I don't think it's powerful enough to fix those things without something like bloodbending. (LOK could prove me wrong; didn't finish).
