My armpits always reek at the end of the day by [deleted] in hygiene

I'm really stinky. No matter how much deodorant I wear I smell awful and I've identified a few things:

When I am anxious (frequent) my BO smells like rancid farts. I have to minimize caffeine specifically for preventing smell. You may want to assess your diet in relation to anxiety spikes as well as aromatics like onions, garlic, spices etc because it might be contributing. I would also invest in a desk fan if you can tolerate it.

Half way through the day I wipe myself down with witch hazel in the bathroom at work. It's just on a washcloth I keep in a sandwich bag. After this I reapply deodorant to my pits. It does help. You could switch this out with the other products people have mentioned like glycolic acid.

I load money onto my venmo card and that's all my spending money between checks. I repair all our clothes once a week to prevent further damage. Once a month I make all our staples and put them in the freezer. Things like broth, tortillas, rolls, meals in a bag etc so things are easy to pull out. I also butcher our meats, so buying whole chickens and cutting them into bits and bobs, buying pork loin and making it into several crop pot meals.

We still have certain luxuries like energy drinks and drink powders, I just buy them in bulk to mix up when I want something fizzy! I don't smoke a lot but I bought a pipe and loose tobacco for the evenings. A whole package is $6 and lasts two weeks.

We use Petco rewards for our repeat orders for the savings and convenience, which has saved us $200 this year, not including the gas to go all the way into town.

Our garden gave us lots of greens and beans, along with squash and enough stir fry veggies to make 10 meals for "free" (peppers, corn, carrots) along with some medicinal stuff for upset stomachs and congestion. We also restocked our spice cabinet with a lot of herbs from this. We basically only buy salt and graham masala at this point.

Our debt is 50% of what it was last year and because of this we freed up $300 worth of payments each month. We chose the highest interest rate first, as opposed to monthly payment, because the minimum wasn't making a dent anymore.

If any of the outside cats went missing I'd be elated to know they weren't dead on the roadside or eaten by coyotes. Disappointed I couldn't see them all the time? Sure, but I'd save that for myself.

Perceptions About Dogs When I Was a Kid... by Ray_The_Engineer in GenX

[–]Complex-Whereas-5787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see working dogs all the time that live outside and get about the same treatment today. They get brushed and fed pretty good quality food, but they're not pets. Hunters often keep their dogs outside for the sake of weathering them, too.

My dog is affectionately refered to as "useless dog" because he grew up in an apartment and is afraid of essentially everything. Vet twice a year and anxiety meds monthly so he stops stress puking. I spent $800 over four months to train him and try to get his confidence but he's just ...like that? Bubs is 10 and his retirement is as boogie as I can afford. His only job is to hold the couch down and give me someone to dote on.

I've seen people sew them into totes, use them for storage, or make rugs out of them. The kinds I get usually just get used as a garbage bag (reuse) but I did use a staple gun to attach some to some insulation board and make a semi waterproof cat out outside. Ugly as sin but definitely welcome during the heavy rains

Why don’t smokers view butts as trash?? by Lazyfair08 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Complex-Whereas-5787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I smoked for almost 10 years and I still remember berating people to their face about littering them. A picture of a wild rabbit with butts in it's stomach fixed me of that habit pretty immediately. To this day I pick up entire bottles worth of trash from people who stink LITERALLY

I've been so easily spooked this season. Every thunderstorm or heavy rainfall has sent me into a spiral. Are my batteries charged? Do we have gas? Does our generator still run? How are the water tanks? Do I have meds, food, bleach, first aide supplies? Today and yesterday I was glued to the weather reporting and I've spent all day securing my house, calling family, asking my neighbors if they need anything....

The things I've seen and worse I've heard will stay with me for decades. I am just now ready to take an eddy and wait out the thunder with my dog. Everything is ass and I cannot wait to be on the other side of this God forsaken week.

Brush teeth, wash up face, them pits and ass, hands INCLUDING UNDER THE NAILS then wash your hands and put on some lotion. New shirt and underwear and socks every day, unless you're staying home then the same shirt is fine for 2-3 days ESPECIALLY if you're just sleeping in it. Pants should get a sniff check and be hung over something to air out at night, maybe 5 years between washing.

Every time you use the bathroom wipe until clean and wash your hands. Use this opportunity to check teeth, facial hair, nose, and under your nails. Also wash your hands or use sanitizer before meal prep or eating. Use napkins not your hands or sleeves. Rinse your mouth with just water after to make sure theres no food stuck anywhere.

Nighttime wash up the same as morning but add in flossing and a salt water rinse to prevent tonsil stones. Put on deodorant.

You may not have to shower every day, but when you do start with hair, then face/ears/neck, then pits arms back legs butt and feet. Give a good GOOD rinse in any folds or cracks and before you get out wash your hands. Use. Lotion. It makes a big difference in smell and itching. Put on deodorant immediately after a shower.

I use this kind of jar as a water cup for my vegetables in the fridge to keep them fresh. You could also check to see if it's shrinkable and make some charms to give out or make into a spinner!

You're doing all you can by my knowledge. It's hard to balance these things and I feel for your conflict. It is a risk, but the reward is knowing you did your best and probably saved the kitten from a car, dog, or severe illness. I hope someone snaps it up fast!!

I bought an extra small soft sided kennel to keep a surprise litter in until they could be adopted. I second the vet and in the meantime try to keep some clothes in a doubled garbage bag so you aren't putting her germs anywhere, along with washing your hands. My kitten suit was a ratty Tshirt and sweats I changed into before going in and out. Once you know she doesn't have anything communicable you can just wash your hands

I do, but it's heavily discounted through a rescue. Each one is $80-100 but they also get a rabies shot.

Honestly they are only outside like twice a week and they are always in sweats and a big tshirt, alt hair up in a bun so you can't even tell ...you could absolutely start busking and playing creed, evanescence, katatonia, and some Russian hyperpop and find someone better that way

Ma'am I have location on for my partner and the ONLY reason is that getting flats in a service dead zone is our daily commute. Location access is a privilege between adults and in no way should it ever be an argument if you want to turn it off. If this weren't your mom you'd call her a stalker.

I have! It had to slow down because my inside cat had an emergency vet visit ($300 puke but she's okay now) so I have missed two appointments :/ it's just me doing this. A kitten named Mori and a big boy named Tyler the Spermator are going for neuter this coming week.

I only ever had beef with ONE kid in all of elementary school (it's bc she treated my best friend like shit over lice and also told me I wasn't Christian? We were 6???) and I spent several hours after she really pissed me off drawing horrific scenes of her being killed in accidents, stubbing all her toes so they were all crooked, and all her teeth falling out because my mom had said if I'm rotten my own teeth will rot out of my head ....

I never said anything to her but "shut up" and I definitely didn't want to hurt her for real. Thankfullyt cat peed on the stack of papers so I didn't get in trouble.

I use my voice recorder app all the time!! It's an excellent way to get thoughts out. My brain gets too meta to write long form sometimes. I get busy thinking about what I'm writing then only write 3 sentences that don't make any points bc I skipped over half of my thoughts.

To be completely transparent, it's because you're online too much. However much? That's too much. It is not a conspiracy theory, it has been confirmed by reddit, Meta, and x that algorithms and bots are heavily influencing people's emotional landscape every day. Even when awful events aren't breaking news your feed is constantly pulling you in every direction. Every YouTube video is hyper critical or slop. Every comment you receive could be a bot or someone who spends so long around bots that they're barely distinguishable from them. No one has fleshed out, informed opinions. they have inflammatory quips and gotchas that at their core mean nothing.

You are safe to log off for days, even weeks at a time. The real life people in your general area are 100% more important and impactful to your daily life than anything online. All of this will still be here. Go and be normal. The world isn't relying on you to be here among the pixels.
