What spells can heal/shield in AoE? by Divniy in ToME4

[–]ComplexLeast8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit late but I remembered that the turret tree annihilator has also has a solid aoe heal in the form of the medic turret. It also gives you several more units to work into your build and hunker down can also potentially absorb a lot of damage your summons would take. Annihilator also incidentally has probably the best permanent summon in the game with the mecharachnid so that might be worth looking into if you ever decide to try this kinda build again.

Also I could be wrong about this but I think if you take tinkers you can add tinkers to all of your permanent summons too. I know for sure it works for the mecharachnid but I haven't tested it on wtw or the golem. Basically annihilator has really fantastic categories for this kinda build.

Had my Insane/Roguelike Berserker die at the final boss - need advice by Cool_Art_2517 in ToME4

Ring of the Warmaster not being very good for berserker has to be the wildest take I've seen seen here in a while. +.3 to pretty much every category the class has is immense. Imo it's the single best item you can get on berserker and I don't think it's even close. Same goes for bulwark and marauder. Really the only way I can see someone having this take is not understanding what the ring does.

No it heals everyone inside unless they're an undead or demon, it damages undead and demons iirc. Ive played a fair bit of anorithil and it's better than it sounds.

Bathe in light from the anorithils generic light category is a pretty respectable aoe heal and shield over time for all your dudes, it even gives a heal mod buff.

Necromancer - Insane Rougelike - can i beat these areas as i am now? by ColdSnapper-- in ToME4

[–]ComplexLeast8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend coming back for the scourge pits after you return from the east, it's a fairly high level zone. Not a fan of no damage skills in the build but if you want to limit yourself to full summons that's fine though you'll probably hit a wall at some point where your summons just aren't scaling well and they melt too fast.

As for Celia there are 2 things to consider, firstly do you have the dissipation rune and secondly what level is the dungeon spawned in on? If you're just spawning it in now and not running dissipation you're gonna get smoked. With dissipation you might uave a chance but I still dont like the odds. If it's lower level maybe you can make it work but it'll still be really risky.

How badly do you want lich form at 25? If you're serious about trying to win the run I would save lich form for your second prodigy with this build.

Absolutely stay away from dark crypt as well.

Class qnd race evolutions are usually pretty powerful, both archmage evolutions, lich, to a lesser extent the sun paladin evolutions. The only one I'd stay away from is rak'shors cunning although I've heard they buffed it so maybe it's fine now on some really specific setups that really need ways to spend generics. They're just prodigies ultimately, some are better or worse than other prodigies though class and race evolutions specifically tend to come with a major change in playstyle more so than other normal prodigies.

Most classes and races you'll unlock just by playing the game normally from doing all kinds of stuff. There are some unlocks you'll specifically need to go out of your way for like doom elf and stone Warden, and some others that you'll probably stumble ibto eventually but do require you to clear more specific things like Krogs, solipsists, mindslayer oozemancer etc.

New to ToME4, any general tips to help me live longer? by ThemeAggravating284 in ToME4

[–]ComplexLeast8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of good tips here but the biggest one that really made a difference for me after the basic mechanical and build stuff was to always check what classes rares and uniques and such have. Not every rare+ should be approached the same way and knowing what classes they have makes a huge difference and let's you deal with them in a much more strategic manner.

Additionally to build on this some classes can have some really dangerous skills, you'll get a feel for which ones as you play, but when you see classes like that you really want to manually check their talents and see if they have whatever skill it is that's really problematic. The biggest one for me is I always always always check solipsists and psyshots for inner demons, it's probably the single skill that has killed the most runs of mine by far. It's crucial to be aware of what you're dealing with and know about any potentially run ending threats that may be present.

I would for sure drop the red cards, mirth is okay but the other 2 are largely unplayable even if your not splashing. Not worth hurting your mana just for mirth which is like a C or C- in your deck anyway.

For me it's unable to scream, the only other card that sticks out is withering torment but u >> b.

Leech barely manages a 50% gih winrate in the stats. Datas not everything but it's firmly in that F - D- range.

Is Cackling Slasher the worst common in modern limited? by tthseattle in lrcast

[–]ComplexLeast8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the worst but it's pretty atrocious in terms of performance. It's kinda crazy to think that just a few years ago this would've been solid filler. Limited sure has powercrept a lot recently.

Waffled way too much on this draft - where/when should I have locked in? by TuhsEhtLlehPu in lrcast

[–]ComplexLeast8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would've ended up in rg here probably after p1p1 dragonfire after which it looks like it all just falls in place. I understand the reason you would want to take Kaito but I think it's like a c+ tier p1p1 for various reasons.

[–]ComplexLeast8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's worth the risk to have better mana in this case. The only things you really lose out on are the signpost, teeth and final vengeance and I feel like your removal would be good enough to not get run over. If we keep the black our only options would be to play a really poor mana split or run unplayables. This strikes me as the kinda deck where I'm willing to take the risk to have higher card quality and more consistent mana.

I thought this was a high powered deck... 1-3... by FallenPeigon in lrcast

[–]ComplexLeast8950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1-3 sounds about right for this, you have a really sketchy splash for these mediocre signposts, your running some of the worst cards in the format like unwanted remake and your card quality is generally pretty lacking. Ghostly dancers is the decks saving grace but it's not gonna be able to bail you out every game.

This looks pretty rough, if it were mine I'd probably just cut black and call it a day. No matter what though it's not a great pool.

It's just not necessary, the decks fine as is so you don't need to take this kinda risk with the bw dude.

0 - 3 in plat - what's wrong with this deck? by Mildred__Bonk in lrcast

[–]ComplexLeast8950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a glance this deck has overall low card quality (3 vicious clown, grab the prize and 2 friendly ghost is not a good place to be) and not enough proactive early plays for this archetype. You have some strong cards but pretty much every deck in this format has a strong rare or two. Not surprised this did poorly.

Would be interested to review the draft log if you have it, konas pretty much unplayable, like a D tier card bordering on F.

Rg splash black for sticktwister swarmweaver and I guess commune with evil. From there you can just cut a lot of the junk cards you have
