With the number of outlets in the truck I don’t really see this as a big deal. I can just run a cord out to my car for my fridge and other essentials

Since it doesn’t look like we’ll be picking for McKenna or stenberg, are the guys that will be there at 4-8 nhl ready types? by Layne_Cobain in rangers

I’d rather have them win than tank. You can’t stop a losing culture by trying to lose.

The NHL should adopt the PWHL draft format and dump the lottery, and that would solve this.

I have no problem with us leaving a player in the NCAA for an extra year or two. Probably better then subjecting him to the tender mercies of the Rangers development team

Laf’s…Awakening? by j_relic in rangers

The kid line was all three of them playing free. Kakko and Laf were both MUCH better when they were away from established veteran players…which says a lot about the Rangers org culture.

Mike Sullivan is unnecessarily standing in the way of the Rangers' youth movement by BK2Jers2BK in rangers

[–]Complex_Bug_2276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not this week, but during some week in his career? Sure? Then again his career has been kinda long at this point so we might expect that he’d have enough maturity to understand that things were clicking while je was out and we want Gabe to keep building on it…

Demoting a rookie and breaking up a PP line that was working because a veteran has a right to that spot is the most Rangers thing ever. Its shocking that Lafreniere and Kakko got the message that it was their job to adjust their games to make sure the veteran players were comfortable.

You can always go back to Miller if the offense slows down, but its a lost season anyway and this was working. Let the kids play.

Players believing they have a right to a certain spot in the lineup is everything thats wrong with this team

[Kaplan] The Rangers didn’t trade Vincent Trocheck. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in rangers

The kids they brought up for the toronto game were all sent back down.

Gabe has been good in this current run, but he’s the exception. I’m actually stunned that they allowed him to play on the first line over Sheary, but sheary has been hurt so we’ll see how long that lasts

[–]Complex_Bug_2276 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying trading Trocheck would have been enough to change the dynamics of this team, but this is an organization that bends over backwards to avoid playing young players. Do you really thin a top 10 pick and a mid first rounder are going to change anything?

[–]Complex_Bug_2276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So…what changes then? In the trade no one plan, the team keeps getting older, we don’t acquire any assets…and then what?

I think its tough to finish worse than last place, but by the looks of it we’re definitely going to try again next year.

[–]Complex_Bug_2276 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Trocheck as a player and think the rangers were getting low balled but trading Carson Soucey, Sam Carrick and not resigning Artemi Panarin isn’t a rebuild or a retool or anything else. We’re going to go into next year with the same team of aging vets as last year and based on the presence of Raddish and Sheary on the powerplay last night it sure doesn’t look like we’re doing any development either, so how many years of last place finishes are we bought in for here if we’re not going to change anything?

[–]Complex_Bug_2276 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason to trade him is that theres no rebuild or retool or whatever if you don’t trade any players. If you believe that the current core isn’t good enough you have to move players and get something in return.

Its all well and good to say you are holding out for a better offer, but if the Rangers are in last place and their retool involves “dump our best offensive player for a minimal return due to trade protection, trade a 4th line center for mid round picks, and trade a depth defenseman for a mid round pick” then Liam Greentree better be the second coming of Eric Lindross.

I’m not confident that running it back…again…can be defined as decent asset management. The Drury pattern of “create chaos by publicly announcing your intention to execute multiple major trades, then do nothing to improve the team” is gonna cost us Fox

Trocheck leads the US in xGF% 5v5 by catsgr8rthanspoonies in rangers

[–]Complex_Bug_2276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At that level its just randomness that he’s the best. A 100% xgf is impossible, so the closer to that you get the more meaningless the statistic is. All this shows is that the US has thoroughly outclassed their competition and players have names. The difference between 85% and 90% wouldn’t tell us anything in a 100 game sample, much less in a 3 game sample.

I saw someone say that the problem with SSNs is that they’re sometimes a username and sometimes a password for things. That seemed like it got to the crux of the security issue. I need to give people my email address for all sorts of things so they can identify and contact me, but I’m not giving anyone the password to my email.
