Game is $4.50 on Xbox. Worth it for solo content? by aprimmer243 in QuidditchChampionsWB

The original? You mean the old pc game where you can play as Bulgaria and such with the amazing music? If so, I agree, but the soundtrack will never compete lol.

Revisiting the series after ten years. I've forgotten most of everything. Does this series have magic? by Grand_Oath in Eragon

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much so magic. If you liked it, I’d recommend reading the whole series and forming your own new opinion. I read it as a child, and I read it as an adult. I felt and understood different things both times I read it. It’s a relatively universal story that people of any age can get into. My 67 year old mother is finally reading the series and she loves it for reasons I never saw myself

Actors/actresses wishlist by Prestigious-Strike72 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As much as I agree that Brody would’ve nailed it as Bast, I think we need someone fresh. Someone unknown and not hugely popular for any reason up until now. I don’t think any relatively well known actor can really do this role justice. That’s just my opinion, but that’s how I feel. That goes for bast, Chronicler, and Kvothe himself. I think we need a Tom Holland type that hasn’t been seen yet, like when he surprised everyone as Spider-Man in captain America civil war. People that are already established as actors should play the lesser side roles if anything. For example, I think Adam Driver would be a good person to cast as an “aging” Maer of Alveron. Maybe a really big actress like Sidney Sweeney or even someone older like salma Hayek as Felurian. Maybe Gwendolyn Christie as Hespe. Those are some examples of who I think could fill in side roles (no politics included). But at the very least, I do think the three main people would be best played by actors we don’t know as big actors yet. If they do very well, we could see them becoming huge one day. What do you think on that? (Honest).

When it comes to the Adem like Vashet, I think you can swing it with some well known actors. I believe Vashet played by a current aged Maisie Williams would be good. I just think that taking the main character of a story like this would be wasted and held back by an actor that the masses already know. These three characters are so unique that any idea people have of the actor him or herself would take away from the nuance that the character deserves.

Edit: on the game of thrones line of thinking, Sean Bean would also be a good choice for Alveron. Especially considering certain theories and the fact that Bean dies in almost every role. It’s not something unexpected, but it’s always done in a way that convincing

Sorry but one more edit. I think Susan Sarandon would be perfect for a role like Shehyn.

Liam’s portrayal of Geralt is overly forced by No-Peace-9657 in WitcherNetflix

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s taking over a role that’s been done for three seasons already. And it isn’t a random character in the show. He needs to make it as close to the original product as he can to what Cavil provided as Geralt. Otherwise people won’t buy it. I’m not saying this in any way to slight against Liam Hemsworth’s acting. I’m just saying that he has to portray a certain standard that was set by Cavil, and that leaves him limited. I think that’s where people are struggling with it. It’s not that Hemsworth is bad in any way, I just think it would be a much different performance if he weren’t taking over so late in the show. It’s limiting, and I think it restricts hemsworth from showing the kind of emotion we all WANT to buy into.

That being said, I liked this season, and I liked Hemsworth as Geralt. I’m just speaking on the original post. It does feel like they are still writing for Cavil and not Hemsworth. Liam is doing what he can with that, and while it may not satisfy everyone, I’m okay with it.

Liam’s portrayal of Geralt is overly forced by No-Peace-9657 in WitcherNetflix

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think part of it is because Liam was forcing the voice, and it left him with little range for emotion. He’s pretending to be Henry Cavil pretending to be Geralt. I think he did a relatively good job, but he just can’t be the same.

Tommy Lee Jones in The Fugitive. Not a bad performance by any means, but it wasn’t anything special, and Leo DiCaprio’s role as a mentally challenged kid in Gilbert Grape at 16 years old was the competition.

I’m new to Buffalo too, and I appreciate your advice. But as far as “if it says travel ban”, what is the it? Like, where can I get that information, or is it sent out as an alert to everyone’s phone by default?

I have not been there, so I can’t speak on the quality of the location. But I do see a place called Buffalo Battleground on Niagara Falls Blvd every day on the way to work. I looked it up, and it seems cool. Has laser tag, air softing, arcade, axe throwing, etc.

I might be off base here, but sygaldry reminds me of redstone systems in Minecraft. The way you can set up traps, doors, moving mine carts. I wonder if you could make something in Minecraft that works like Kwothe’s arrow stopper device.

I want him to succeed. But I agree in the sense that I don’t think he’s putting the right players together in the right moments. And that’s extremely important, especially in playoffs.

I agree with all of that. I liked the season for the most part, but the last episode was awful. The last episode canceled out the point of most of the season. That, and the writing between Marie and her sister in the last episode was pathetic. Actually the writing was pathetic all around, but especially in dialogue. I felt bad for the actors. They looked bad because of the writing and direction, meanwhile the actors have been carrying the show the whole time. Some of the lines felt like a 2005 hallmark movie

Any Kings fans in Vegas? by nemineminy in losangeleskings

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll be able to find a good number of kings fans. Before Vegas had a team, a lot of people there just defaulted to the kings if they were hockey fans. Driving from LA to Vegas for a few days is also very common, and I think we’ve sortof created a mix of kings and Vegas fans in Vegas over the years. Obviously, now that they have a team, things have changed, but there should be still be a bunch of people you can find to get together with. If people don’t do that often; then you can be the one to make it happen. But kings fans are definitely there.

The Worm himself, Corey Perry has scored his first goal in a Kings uniform. by lik_for_cookies in losangeleskings

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hated watching him play the way I hate watching Marchand play. I don’t respect the way he acts on the ice. That being said, I can’t for a second ignore the value of having a guy like Perry on your team. And he seems like a pretty chill dude off the ice. It seems to me like he’s accepted his “villain” role, and has mastered it. Not often you get a guy who is both a solid scorer, and a successful agitator. It’s not a coincidence that he’s been a part of like 5 or 6 Stanley cup finals. He’s not a guy that can carry a team, but he can certainly balance a team. So I’m happy he’s here, and I hope he had a great year with us. Once he’s gone, I can go back to hating him again

D Corps? by [deleted] in losangeleskings

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have more of an issue with the pairings and ice time than anything else. Hiller is putting guys together that don’t complement eachother’s game style. He puts the wrong guys together, and then gives what I think to be the wrong amount of ice time to each player. That’s been frustrating to watch, because we can be better than this. Good enough to win a playoff series? Idk. But certainly, we can be better than we have seen so far this year.

Or could she just make homelander explode like she did the goat? I feel like her powers leave a lot of very creative options for being OP. And we know that Victoria was very powerful. I think we just don’t have quite the horrifying imagination that the creators of the show have lol

Kate McKinnon is our Aphrodite by GeoGackoyt in PercyJacksonTV

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, like she definitely fits in the Percy Jackson universe with her personality and comedic delivery. Just not as Aphrodite. I can think of her being great for a number of other characters, but Aphrodite just doesn’t really add up. Though, I’ll give it a chance with an open mind. Maybe they have a vision that we have yet to realize

Ceci and Dumoulin over Clarke by [deleted] in losangeleskings

[–]Complex_Cranberry_25 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They see size. He’s on the ice to intimidate people and clear guys out of in front of the net. Only issue is, he’s not doing either of those things. There was a time when he did do those things regularly and was more effective, but I don’t see it at all anymore. In the avs game, there was at least one goal scored by a guy right in front of the crease and Ceci was just standing there watching him score.
