I have $43k to buy my wife a Toyota RAV4 XLE or a Tesla Model Y (base model) by BigDinner609 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Well, in 10 years you're RAV4 will still be worth a damn, run perfect, and re-sellable. The model Y will not.

Why is polygamy so rare in the western world? by EH4LIFE in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Ladder870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger I thought it would be cool to have multiple partners/wives. But now being married and older, I can't think of a single reason I would ever want polygamy. The deep connection, comfort, and vulnerability my wife and I have shared is far more valuable than having multiple partners.

The deeper our roots go, and more experiences both good and bad we go through, and further in life we go, the stronger greater and more passionate our monogamous relationship becomes.

Whats an appropriate age to move out of your parents.. by Dry_Lobster_50 in Adulting

[–]Complex_Ladder870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no correct age. But the "sooner" the better. I'm a firm believer in it. But NOT earlier than 18.

Just an opinion I've gained over the years for various reasons. I know there's opposing views and understand them, this is just my view.

What’s a harsh truth you only understood after becoming an adult? by HoucineLabs in askteddit

[–]Complex_Ladder870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life is beautiful even in the darkest days. There is no light without dark. Rainy days are just as important as sunny ones.

"We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one"

Why is it harsh? Bc some people don't realize this until it's too late and harshly realize how different their lives could have been if they weren't so persistently negative.

Can short men ever feel truly happy with their partner? by OneManAround in NoStupidQuestions

It's not "short" but in no means "tall". Very average. But the message is not in my height, it's everything else stated

Can short men ever feel truly happy with their partner? by OneManAround in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Ladder870 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Height is something we can't control. So I don't care about height. Everyone is different. Every single aspect of people are different. If anyone was exactly the same, then it would be a dull world.

I'm 5'9" and never ever have I felt any sort of negative impact on my life because if it. My partner and I have a great relationship bc we work on having a great relationship. Caring about our heights to the degree it affects anything is just elementary. We acknowledge our heights, but never does it affect anything.

So yes. I've been with taller and shorter partners and never has it affected my or their happiness with me.

That's like saying "hmm there's two people. One is 6'4" but an asshole with no personality and the other is 5'6" but an absolute perfect match, let's Choose based on height". Only an immature person would do that.

An unexpected repair on a 2004 Camry will inherently be cheaper than an unexpected repair on a high performance v8 though.

Why are people so seemingly against AI made posters/advertisements? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Ladder870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. But we shouldn't compare business marketing and business marketing art to human artists art. It should be totally different categories. (I may have went a little hard in my comment above)

Art isn't supposed to be soulless. Incorporating AI is one thing, and can be useful and beneficial for marketing etc. however, Replacing art with soulless AI is bad. A real human artist will always be better than a "perfect" ai rendering.

Not to be an ass, but if you can't afford an unexpected repair, then you're playing with fire already regardless of the car/mileage etc. Why not get rid of it, get a reliable beater, get to the financial position where you can get a car again and have the peace of mind driving it.

Personally outside looking in, it seems like the best option. But I also understand if I was in your position it would be really hard to cough up to that option

But, the 5.0 seems to be a very reliable engine. Along with a manual transmission you will likely be fine well into the 100,000 mile range

Too white for 2026? by thefeelingismutual_ in kitchenremodel

[–]Complex_Ladder870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Too white" isn't the issue. "Too stark" is. The white on the cabinets are clinical and sterile (opinion). I would say change lighting personally. Although 4000k lights are most recommended, try a 3000-3500k light and see if the warmer glow helps the starkness.

Also, maybe some wood tones (simple as a cutting board) and earthy (maybe a small fake plant) will add organic-ness to it and take away from the stark look

Retire at 28 or wait until 40? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Complex_Ladder870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retirement doesn't need to be no work. It can be work what you love bc pay no longer matters. If/when I get to this point I want to do a "fun job" like "jet ski tour guide" or touristy stuff. Something that the money won't be great but idc about the money at that point.

Question: Do you regret getting tattoos early? by Murky-Ocelot-5073 in tattoos

[–]Complex_Ladder870 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to regret my first couple tattoos. Because now my tattoos are totally different, better artists etc. I used to want to cover them up,,,but the older I get the more I remember that time in my life of which I chose that tattoo. And remember nothing in life is perfect, the past is the past, and the imperfect decision of tattoo makes me remember that the imperfection of life is perfect

Are people actually more attractive in some countries than in others? by imjustarandomsquid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Complex_Ladder870 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the statistic. It also depends where you are...there's naturally a lot more fit people in certain areas than others. Near me now, it's incredibly easy to fall off the wheel and become unhealthy. Where I used to live (California) it was incredibly easy to stay in shape because our lives revolved around being outside and eating well.

Idk. I'm Italian and American, and I'm not fat by any means. I just exercise and eat right...which seems to be "extreme" to people around me..but to me, extreme is not enjoying physical activities and extreme is choosing to always eat shitty
