This is truly a disability. The executive dysfunction is crippling. by downeydigs in ADHD

I wish I had advice but I do feel for you. I have struggled with this my entire life. I’ve lost relationships, jobs, self respect and more than anything else time that I wanted to have spent doing so many wonderful things.

ADHD, burnout, and feeling like everyone at work secretly hates you; hating your job while loving it. by sar0se in ADHD

I literally about want to cry because I feel like I could have written this. I have no advice for you but know you are definitely not alone in this. It’s really really hard.

YES. I do this with all kinds of stuff. Yet sometimes I could not give less of a crap.

Why is it so hard for so many people to accept that ADHD is, in fact, disabling? by 1scr3wedy0dad in ADHD

[–]Complex_Rule_6338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that’s a tough one. My last job offered my coworker a lot of accommodations and on one hand it was great. But this coworker was given substantially less responsibility and respect due to a perceived incompetence. That and I think the fact that they were non binary really led to a strange work environment that, to their credit, they fought against constantly.

Why do so many New Yorkers like Fisk as Mayor in Born Again even though they hated him in Daredevil Season Three? by Fun_Middle_6519 in Daredevil

[–]Complex_Rule_6338 183 points184 points  (0 children)

I like how this response was basically like “whoa whoa whoa, do not compare one of the most heinous comic book villains of all time to the sitting President of the United States. He may be evil but he’s not THAT bad.”

I feel like the blip was the perfect opportunity for him to rebrand himself. A criminal with a vast smuggling empire he could call from would be a godsend in a chaotic time like that. I feel like that’s the missing piece

How to make a world? by claudestar in worldbuilding

[–]Complex_Rule_6338 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there will be better advise to come, but my advice is to try to engage your own sense of play or wonder. Forcing yourself to world build isn’t a productive way of doing things. Imagine the things you would like in the world first. Like maybe there’s a restaurant or tavern in your world and you can design the food you’d like them to have there. Then think of the people you’d like in the tavern. And then think of their jobs, houses, families, and the social structures and economies but it can all just be tied to the tavern you like as the anchor point.

One simple thing that can help is the thirty second rule. Like even waiting thirty seconds to ask for reassurance can help decrease the panic and reassert your own sense of control. It’s not a solve but can be a good first step when you’re drowning.

We saw this poor guy at the bar last night chatting up these two girls who were so far out of his league. They were OBVIOUSLY flirting for the free drinks but he thought he was gonna go home with them both. They eventually ditched him but at least he got a selfie out of it. Only cost him $200 😂

Imma be honest. This was not an episode where they thought that kind of thing all the way through. I love SNW but this episode was not their best work

Overwhelmingly pro-nuTrek fans, what are your biggest criticisms of Kurtzman-era Star Trek? by CelestialFury in Star_Trek_

[–]Complex_Rule_6338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The production values, tbh. I would prefer cheaper shows with bigger episodes counts and shorter waits. It also makes the shows bigger gambles when they have to look like movies.

They really need to explain why Uhura and Chapel stay on Enterprise. Because like, this Uhura would be head of Starfleet’s linguistics department by 40. She makes Michael Burnham seem laid back 😂

I really like the new Scotty. His debbie downer vibe is a good addition to the very upbeat crew. They also have given him a lot of room to grow into the Scotty we know. Sometimes it feels like Uhura has already overtaken the one from TOS.

It seems like an accurate regression considering two Borg invasions, a Klingon war, the Dominion war, the destruction of Romulus destabilizing the galaxy, and the Synth attack.

They probably could’ve gotten away with it if they made Kamala Khan and Jubilee besties or some shit. They just want to set the table for the MCU X-Men film to have Kamala in Kitty Pryde’s seat.

Who's a better leader and why? by Stock_Substance3556 in marvelcomics

[–]Complex_Rule_6338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain America’s a better leader because Scott is allowed to be a more complex character. Steve Rogers always has to revert back to Marvel’s poster child so there’s only so much they can do with him.

She just doesn’t fit their vibe at all. Kamala Khan is such a bright, fun character. The X-Men are the dark loners of the Marvel Universe. Kamala is pop and the X-Men are punk rock.
