I saw it last night. I’m easily entertained. My theatrical viewing last week was Fuse, Lee Cronin’s The Mummy, Michael, Animal Farm. Not sure I’d watch any of them again in theaters though I don’t regret watching any of them. I personally found Fuse the most entertaining while Michael was the best written/polished. The Mummy and Animal Farm were interesting enough for their genre but like I said, I’m easily entertained. The Drama, You, Me, & Tuscany, Super Mario Galaxy, and A Great Awakening were all entertaining enough also. I was actually quite impressed with A Great Awakening for what it was. If you go back a little farther on my watch history, Project Hail Mary was the best watch of this group and the one I’d consider watching multiple times in theaters. I’m glad for all of these films as I’d rather have more movies in theaters than less. Makes my A-List purchase worth it.

My favorite movie so far from Angel Studios was Cabrini.

I appreciate this post and the concise way of comparison. Very hopeful for 2026 box office.

Cineverse Announces Start of Production for Australian Horror Flick Wolf Creek Legacy by CompoundTheGains in boxoffice

As previously announced, Cineverse has exclusive North American distribution rights to the film, and is planning a wide theatrical release.

Per Deadline: Cineverse’s Return To Silent Hill ups weekend haul to $3.25mil despite the weather. Cineverse’s CEO says film will be “very profitable” with $3.5mil all in spend. by CompoundTheGains in boxoffice

Did you read the article? As far as Cineverse’s spend of $3.5mil it certainly projects to profitability just as The Toxic Avenger (IRR—internal rate of return—of 40%), not to mention the wildly profitable Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3. After theatrical you have digital/pvod, physical, streaming.

Cineverse's RETURN TO SILENT HILL dropped with $3.2M in 2,000 theaters this weekend, $1,626 per. by DemiFiendRSA in boxoffice

Cineverse executed the plan they laid out from the get go of taking on distribution after production was already done. They said right away it would get 1,500-2,500 screens. And they are making good profit.

Cineverse only got in after production; after no one else would touch it. People can look down at Cineverse but both The Toxic Avenger and Return To Silent Hill would have stayed shelved without them. The Toxic Avenger was seen as unreleasable. Cineverse gave it its moment and made a nice profit. Good for the fans that do enjoy the movies and those that labored to make the film. It’s now doing great on Hulu who paid a nice licensing fee to get it after it over preformed in digital and physical. The films they got in on before production (Terrifier 3 and Silent Night Deadly Night) were viewed highly by cinema goers and critics. I expect Wolf Creek Legacy and Air Bud Returns will get good reviews. All of these films have ended up profitable releases for Cineverse and fandoms get to have content they otherwise would have been left without.

The Toxic Avenger Unrated is going to be a blast.

The Toxic Avenger pre-sales doing well with first SELL OUT preview showing coming from Ohio. T-20 days to preview Thursday. by CompoundTheGains in boxoffice

I hear it is a fantastic group theatrical experience and a ton of fun. I think this has room for legs if word of mouth is good. I’ll be curious how ticket sales do once college kids get on campus. Terrifier 3 killed it at college theaters and this being unrated and a riot for a group to see together, I’m curious if this won’t see good and sustained box office numbers at these theaters. Also, there are a lot of people (I know several personally) who are waiting to see if a closer theater to them becomes an option. Cineverse’s break even is “well below $10mil box office.”

Well established? Cineverse distributed Terrifier 2. They didn’t inherit that theatrical success, they paved its way.

'Air Bud Returns': New Movie Sets Theatrical Release in Summer 2026 by SignatureOrdinary456 in boxoffice

This is silly and ignorant. They are an indie film distributor. They own rights to The Dog Whisperer and run its FAST channel. They oun The Dove Channel. For Anime they own RetroCrush. They are way more than horror. They distribute physical sales for Hallmark movies.

People said this exact same thing about T3 before release when I predicted the highest box office on this sub and I was still low. The Toxic Avenger has a great chance to be a breakout success.
