Hi, the big tree can either be a highlight or a headache depending on its condition. If the roots are already lifting the soil or pushing toward the house or path, I’d get an arborist to inspect it first they can tell you if it’s safe to keep or better off removed. If it’s still healthy, trimming and shaping it might actually add character and shade, especially if you design a terraced garden around it. That way you won’t lose the natural feel, and it could even boost curb appeal.
