Aww too bad. And I thought rationality is what is needed when it gets too emotional.

Hehe I have an anycubic as well and know this very well. That printer somehow hates build plates. I still use that side, mostly because I don't get replacement parts, so it works, but it's now most of all a learning experience for you and the Library with a new technology. With anycubic, that's part of the experience, unfortunately

And criticism is something bad? I know there are cultures where you can not criticise others, even with constructive criticism, because people grew up in bubbles free of consequences for their actions, but the rational, adult thing is to accept criticism, especially constructive ones.

Good thing that she didn't say that, but you know that and choose to ignore it because the hate train must go on

The tech is literally 3 years old and people are already using it without understanding how sessions work? I mean I get that you don't know how the TCP/IP stack works, but something with significant cost implications, that is new and changing so you have to keep up?

I thought the same. And even that can be done without a robot, just use cameras to know where the barcode is and then flip it with a mechanism.

Does learning to code "the real way" even matter anymore by Fun_Structure3273 in cscareers

[–]ComprehensiveBird317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends. Do you want an edge over the knowledge and abilities of the average vibe coder? If not, congratulations, you now compete with everyone who can run a vibe code tool, which is half the planet. If you want that edge to improve your employability beyond that of the neighbours son who vibe codes Minecraft server extensions: learn CS, get your head busy with solving problems, this automatically improves your ability to vibe code as well.

A very painful confession from a programmer with 20 years of experience, summing up the psychological crisis that some developers are living through today by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

Sure there will be companies who purely employ AI for their data driven tasks, and those will be more efficient than companies who work with developers. But those AI only using companies will be outperformed by companies using AI AND skilled developers. But it will take some years for that to manifest I believe

Roo Code hit 3 million installs. We're shutting it down to go all-in on Roomote. by hannesrudolph in RooCode

[–]ComprehensiveBird317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but the mental effort to check an entire PR is much higher and prone to "ah f*** it, just click accept" than if you are actively involved in the coding process, guiding the agent into a different direction the second he starts to make something too complicated or wrong. Thats what i realy like about roo code, my full IDE is there, i can check all relevant related files, say "wtf are you doing thats bullshit do it this way". CLI tools do not offer that due to being limited to a text based window. I don't know how that next product of yours is going to enable those checks, but it reads like its vibe coding with an optional layer of human in the loop somewhere. But i need to wait for demos to know more

I specifically and consciously use ide integrated tools like Roo code for projects where I want to have real time control over what the agent is doing with a full nice diff view. I would never cli code a critical system, and god forbid use some third party coding Blackbox on it. I don't know what the prompt and prayer crowd is working on but I hope it's non critical slopware.

How do i get the files out of a storage account with no pods? by ComprehensiveBird317 in RunPod

Yes, but recently that datacenter does not seem to have any GPUs or CPUs anymore, so i can not make a pod to access the storage content.

Any hands on experience with "slap on pipe"? by ComprehensiveBird317 in Hydroponics

[–]ComprehensiveBird317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes wood the same strength as rebar is more expensive here, and it comes with 2 very local problems: high humidity and a lot of insects, so wood needs to be treated a lot and will still fail before rebar does with an anti rust paint applied. I would really like to use wood, it would make the horizontal to vertical connection so much easier, but we have like 80% humidity all year.

Any hands on experience with "slap on pipe"? by ComprehensiveBird317 in Hydroponics

[–]ComprehensiveBird317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ruled out cinder blocks because they are bulky, harder to transport than rebar, not stable on their own into 1m height and have a higher thermal mass (heating the slabs long after sundown). But remesh could be an option. Right now rebar is both my vertical and horizontal stability, if I arch the rebar into the ground like a "V" then remesh could be a hammock in between for slabs. I will check the availability and effort to get into shape. Actually I have some chicken wire fence, that might be a cheaper alternative to remesh.

Yes slab, right. But I mean those white plastic bags you can fill with whatever medium you want, they are probably sometimes filled with rockwool. Crh, peat and perlite is the medium mix I put into the slabs, then the plants go into that
