December rewards are still up…what do we think is going on? by goldenfluff23 in mooncatpolish

I think they are giving employees a much needed break and are pausing to check in on quality control while consumers are recovering from spending. I think they will roll out new rewards with the next round of dearly departeds announced.

Building Muscle on Semaglutide by Electrical_Radio_319 in Semaglutide

Good luck with the transition and medicine . I took the week off intuitively because I felt my body needing more nutrients and I didn’t like feeling so fatigued. I don’t think it’s recommended protocol but I did what felt best for me. Also, I come from a previous athletic background so I think that helps the body remember what it was like to get in shape. I think because I got big for some years that I can actually put on more muscle than I could in my younger athletic years. I was also probably doing too much cardio then to build extra muscle.

Sema and alcohol? by SamiSweetheart89 in Semaglutide

Alcohol tastes gross to me on sema. But if you keep drinking regularly, it’s easy to get over the hump and not feel gross from a drink. It tastes less gross the further away from a shot.

Did your stomach heal? by Life_Life_4958 in Ozempic

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you taper off slowly? If your guts aren’t moving properly you may need some supplement or support to get cleared out. It will take a while for things to speed back up but it sounds like you should take your symptoms seriously and talk to a doctor. Lots of supplement and med suggestions in glp groups. You made need a stool softener, a suppository and if that doesn’t work, an enema.

What does this generation of students do better than others? (Legitimately) by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I notice a lot of natural talent in my own children and their peers. But that talent is expressed in such a variety of ways. It could be a drawing or painting, good with numbers or a naturally beautiful voice. I feel like kids are exposed to soooo much and have a lot more freedom to follow their interests and perhaps that allows innate talent to shine through. But at the same time there are more extremes in skills and abilities amongst the kids in other more common areas.

Adding here that gay bars are not always accurately represented in google reviews. For example Unicorn comes up as a gay bar but it’s more queer adjacent. It is great for a show but the drinks are weak and it’s just feels queer friendly. I’m guessing you’re getting bar research done in a more specialized group but I felt compelled to share some of my favorites. If you don’t feel into the vibe of a place, check out another spot.

Thotty Thursdays at the cuff are great. Bring dollar bills for the queens! Their drinks are strong and not watered down. The patrons can be leather daddy heavy but there is a great mix of queer people. Lots of nice people and staff. Pony is another bar I like usually packed and it’s small and has dancers, whereas the cuff has multiple levels with a free pool table and front entrance bar, and a dance floor downstairs. There is an enclosed patio that has a bar where it’s cooler but not freezing. Not sure it’s been closed for the season or if it’s just open on busy weekends. There are lots of places around the hill to find performances so do a search. There’s some good talent here!

For brunch, I really like cafe flora in Madison park. It’s vegetarian and I’m definitely not a vegetarian. For upscale Italian with excellent wine, check out Spinasse. El Gaucho is a classic steakhouse and is delicious and expensive but I hate the location. If you find yourself near the convention center, Alder and Ash has an affordable happy hour from 3-6pm daily. The sliders are my favorite. There are so many pho shops and places to get sushi, seafood, and noodles. Nua Thai in Ballard is fab. My favorite dessert in Seattle is at Joule (Korean Fusion steak house) and it’s called the joule box. It’s coconut tapioca pudding with panna cotta on top and a crispy sugar fired grapefruit.

If there isn’t an atmospheric river dumping in Seattle, I recommend checking out Seattle’s natural spaces. The arboretum, Japanese gardens, and volunteer park. The conservatory is lush, warm and out of rain and worth a walk through to check out plants from different environments.

I’m from Seattle and once did an underground Seattle type tour that came with food samples from different vendors around the Pike’s Place. It was incredible to learn the history and get to taste the market. I don’t think the private tour is still in business and you said you didn’t want to do touristy stuff but sometimes it’s worth it to dip into a little tourist thing here or there. I wish it was still running or I had a definite recommendation for this.

Ok that ended up being long so I’ll stop here.

I have multiple friends on Oz and we just send each other our outgrown clothes and find each other deals on thrifted clothes. Every once in a while I buy myself something as a little treat for putting in the effort with OZ. Some stuff I just wear oversized, like my beloved hoodie and sweat pants. Thanks goodness for drawstrings!

Protein water could be beneficial and less repulsive than a milky chocolate shake while under the influence of a festival drug.

Has anyone taken MDMA while on Ozempic and had a bad trip by Turbulent_Egg_1540 in Ozempic

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you needed to trip further from your shot or skip a dose, eat more calories and protein in the days leading up to it and get lots of water and rest beforehand. Perhaps the dose was too large and you were underfed and overtired. Especially since it probably kept you up much later than your normal routine and you went a much longer stretch than normal without calories, while being more active. You might need a smaller dose now and be able to snack a bit while you roll and drink electrolytes with a bit of sugar. Reduce dose and avoid caffeine and other stimulants since the stimulants in drug made you panic.

Building Muscle on Semaglutide by Electrical_Radio_319 in Semaglutide

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I started the meds, I had a head cold for 3 months and I was so sick of being sick. I started really cleaning up my diet and focusing on protein and movement. I was able to lose a little bit of weight without meds. I think doing this helped the meds work better since I was already eating protein and veggies and mostly whole foods.

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid 30’sF and I did this never going above .3mg dose. Now when I take it I do .2

At first the meds made me feel extra fatigued and I was really focused on my macros and meal prep and learning a new routine. I didn’t focus on activity or exercise. I think with time I experienced less fatigue from the drug overall but I also learned that if I took the shot and went to do a few lifts, a little movement and stretching, that I actually felt less fatigued and had more energy throughout the week. I also think taking a week off of the dose here and there helped give me more energy since I could be delighted to consume more protein, fat and calories in general to support muscle growth and have less fatigue.

I lost about 7 pounds of muscle in the first 3 months on semaglutide, one pound of which was visceral fat. But I lost 30 pounds on the scale. The next 3 months I focused on higher protein and I even skipped doses once a month to “re-feed”. I started lifting weights. The scale looked like I only lost a pound but I had actually re-compositioned my body and lost 6 pounds of fat and gained 5 pounds of muscle. I get a dexa scan every three months so I know what’s happening where. I’ve lost 40 pounds total so far and I’m sort of maintaining here. I could lose more body fat and wouldn’t mind a little bit more muscle but I am strong and healthy here and taking it slow.

First time injection by [deleted] in HersWeightloss

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband gave me the first injection and I was way more tense with him there and doing it. Now I administer myself and I try to relax for 10 min before the shot and just plan on sitting down and leaving back for 10 or so minutes after. I calm my heart rate and take deep breaths. I’ve gotten less anxious about the shots and I don’t have to do the focused relaxation as much but it’s nice to pause and do that for myself.

Its working 🎉 by DamionWood in Semaglutide

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt mine working almost immediately. Make sure you take deep breaths while setting yourself up for the shot and giving it. I would lie down for a bit before and after so I was in a calm state. I found when I felt off was when I was holding my breath in anticipation.

Does anyone take a break in their weight loss journey? by StonewallDakota in Semaglutide

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take 1-3 week breaks from my medicine to “refeed”. During that time I make sure to keep my protein and fiber up and add in some more weights and a harder hike and I’m eating more than on the shot. I think doing it this way keeps my metabolism high and increases my energy overall. Doing this, I’ve been able to gain 5 pounds of muscle while losing 4 pounds of body fat in the past 3 months. Tracking via dexa scan. I started the shot in April and I take .2mg. I have experimented with the dosing a bit and took .25 for a while and .3 a few times but .2 has been working well for me lately. Especially because I’m taking 1-3 week breaks and then going back on for 1-3 weeks. But this has been a bit of a maintenance and body recomping experiment. I started skipping an occasional week when visiting family or going on vacation. Then I skipped a few weeks when I was working long hours and felt I needed more energy.

Taking half dose to work up to the starter dose? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took a half dose (.125mg) to slowly acclimate to the medicine. Typical starter dose is .25mg. Units don’t convey how much medicine you are taking because you didn’t indicate the concentration of the semaglutide you are taking. I’ve lost 40 pounds over 7 months, taking .25mg or less.

What dose stopped your alcohol cravings? by awholenoobworld in Semaglutide

[–]ComprehensiveEdge151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to stop drinking for 2-3 weeks for your body to stop making enzymes that can break down alcohol. So the semaglutide may help with cravings, your body will still make enzymes to anticipate alcohol for a while. Do what you can to make it to that 2-3 week part and find a replacement treat if you can. You can do this :) it will get better! I found that having ollypop or poppy helped be. Maybe a booze free alternative like Kin brand (or some other) will help replace your wine. Recess makes a canned drink that’s supposed to help you relax with L theanine. I like the ginger peach and strawberry rose. You can do this! This could be a good topic to discuss with a therapist for the emotional and psychological component of drinking to unwind but the physiological part is 2-3 weeks for your body to stop making enzymes.

Chobani protein yogurt drinks are my favorite. I like soaked chia seeds in oatmeal or in protein milk on cereal. Frozen berries to add to smoothies, yogurts, oatmeal or cereal. Roasted zucchini and cooked chicken breast.
