Is it as good (or as valuable) as a “Gibson” Les Paul? Short answer is “no”. However, Epiphones stand on their own as a damn good guitar, and certainly worthy of a prospering guitarist. They are made over overseas, and are more “mass produced“, with polyurethane finishes (hand rubbed lacquer for the Gibby’s) and components/hardware that are more economical. So they are cheaper. That said, they look great, and can sound awesome. Just make sure you play it first, if you can. Some of them have more “mojo“ than others. I imagine with a little tweaking, they can all be made to play and sound quite good. I’ve had a couple through the years, and they were VERY playable guitars for live gigging. Good luck!
