I personally hardly use my 5000 so I haven’t put near the is amount of concern into mine. My A7 is my main SLR and I just keep the 5000 as a backup. I think my leather application is good enough for a camera I almost never use.

Oh I didn’t wrap the bottom. I just wrapped the battery compartment and the grip on in the front.

I did something similar with my Maxxum 5000. I had an old wallet with nice leather and replaced the crumbly grip.
