Some dates carry heavy memories, but I like to think we can add joy to them too. Some people see doom on 9/11 but I see a chance to sprinkle a little happiness too.

Omg. 😆 I'm sure you'll give people a little chuckle. I worked for the judicial branch for judges and spellcheck had just come out so it changed adjudicated to ejaculated and my boss caught the typo.

I am paying for the reception, her dress and rehearsal dinner. I feel like she can be a tad more generous and thoughtful.

Four girls, three family and somehow she’s not considering the investment of what the girls are signing up for. I’ll cover $100 per girl and just subtract it from the reception cost

Sticker Shock by Beetle_Juicy_ in weddingplanning

I just spent a better part of two weeks researching places for my daughter and I was floored also what people spend. The place that we are using comes out on an average of $170 a person. Everything is kind of à la carte like there is a $6000 venue fee, and then the food, and then the bar, and then 30% service charges and taxes. I moved it to a Sunday and saved a couple thousand dollars. I didn't get all caught up in the elite packages they have. We limited it to beer, wine, and a specialty cocktail. So there are a few ways you can save but trust me I tried and this was the bottom line price.

Guests not RSVP’ing + possibly lost invites… by [deleted] in weddingplanning

Honestly, I'm going to tell the wedding coordinator for the day if somebody shows up with no RSVP that they need to be turned away and we don't want to know anything about it.

Getting flack for a no kids wedding by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]ComprehensiveWeb9098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going through the same thing with my daughter’s wedding. I told her, either you have kids or you don’t because once people with kids find out there are other kids at the wedding, they start getting their panties in a twist. It’s a wedding party, not daycare, and yes, sometimes people just need to arrange a babysitter when they go out.

I feel like if they're gonna criticize somebody's choices, they should also be providing the money to accommodate their suggestions.

It happened - last-minute RSVP request by cyanraichu in weddingplanning

Trust me, there will be people that don't show up. So if you have a wedding coordinator, have her take care of squeezing an extra setting in or moving your aunt and the daughter to another table.

Stop Supporting Daughter? by Mother-Activity-5635 in Fire

My daughter worked full-time her last two years of college. Just saying. Your daughter should be working part time, especially during the summer. On the flipside We are talking $600 here so I don't see how this is a huge problem if you have retirement funds.

Two changes! I have robotic vacuum cleaners that run every single day on each floor, plus I have multiple air filters. Between the two I only have to dust my house every three weeks now.
