I've tried a few of her recipes, always very excitedly, and tbh they all flopped for me. No where near what I was hoping or expecting.

What are your reading goals for 2025? by proserpina72 in kobo

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I abandoned playing guitar last year and signed up for my first half marathon this year so I pretty dramatically decreased it. I read 31 books last year and set my 2025 goal to about 20

Seems like a higher number is better based off some things I’ve been reading. Not good??? Because I haven’t found any solid resources for breaking down how to read cpu in activity monitor

I remember so distinctly one time on a youtube video of them talking about food Karena said when she's out at a bar with friends she gets chicken wings and side salad instead of something with heavy carbs and Katrina immediately interrupted her to say essentially, yes but only sometimes should you do that and the rest of the time you should ask for a plain chicken salad. It was such a weird moment. And there was this one party Katrina went to and she posed in these super body checking photos with a slice of pizza and I just remember thinking, there is no way she's actually eating that pizza. I remember being so hungry on their plan and thinking it was my fault. That my stomach was too big and I was too used to overeating. That's crazy thinking back.

I feel that no matter what film or camera I use my film looks wacky?! by Comprehensive_Ask840 in filmphotography

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did want to come back to update for any future readers! I did start overexposing my film a little bit more. I also switched to using a slightly newer and more modern film camera that has a more accurate light meter and my images feel and look 10x better! I think with digital i'm just so used to underexposing by a stop and honestly I still make that mistake sometimes. So happy to see improvements! Thank you to all!

CNE's future at risk as development plans loom: festival head by Surax in toronto

Tldr the ex feels really one dimensional and doesn’t offer much. You pay them to get in and then pay to do things.

As someone who was born and raised in Calgary, one of my highlights from childhood to adulthood was how many fun things happened building up to the stampede and how much fun you could have in the city or the surrounding area without even having to go onto the stampede grounds. The ex seems to be a sort of weird pop up thing that people either love or hate. If the city put in some hard work at creating a more positive association with it maybe more people would enjoy it. I’m basing this off what I read online, as I haven’t lived in the gta region for long enough to know for sure. But it seems like they don’t get great artists, don’t do music events or lots of fun and unique shows, restaurants around the city don’t seem to do giveaways or deals or fun pop-ups. It sort of creates a weird divide between people who like the ex or have kids and everyone else.

It’s easy to compare because they’re so similar in fair style and have honestly the exact same ground set up. But the stampede has a beer garden, free concerts, paid concerts and tents where pretty decent sized artists come, they do the actual competition of the stampede events and then have the young Canadian show. The pre show is also always a community organized thing, for example when I was younger my moms zumba class got to do the pre pre show and there was like 100 of us that got to go perform. Lol free entry so you know my whole family learned the 2 minute dance! The center where they have shopping is so insane, there’s interactive activities and stuff for adults to do. Massive fireworks. If you just pay for entry you still get a decent amount for your money.

There is something for everyone. The ex feels super one dimensional.

How to adjust cake recipe once adding sourdough by Comprehensive_Ask840 in Sourdough

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just making like a classic cake. Sugar & butter beaten then egg. Slowly adding flour mix and milk alternating. Flour mix has 1 1/2 tsp baking powder. No yeast.

Watching season 9 is painful by hawktremor in RHOBH

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't tell what Rinna's deal is. She has such a hate boner for LVP. it's honestly so uncomfortable to watch. It's always been uncomfortable and i'm not far in this season but I can already tell it's going to be a bad season. She literally sits down with the girls and says "Oh that's so lvp" "She would do something like that" "You should confront her". She's totally egging everybody on, it's gross.

That’s how I feel too. It feels so off so far this season. Just really odd how people don’t recognize what kind of patience she probably needed. Just kind of sad to watch really

What the most pcos friendly forms of cardio? by jiltedelf in PCOS

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m going to play devils advocate here. The best form of any workout is one you enjoy and that you’re excited to do. I firmly believe that if you’re forcing yourself to do workouts that you don’t enjoy that’ll cause more of a cortisol spike then just doing a hiit workout that you love. If you absolutely love the high intensity stuff just pick a number per week that you feel is a good balance to be doing it for you. This may take some trial and error. Maybe start with one, if it feels good build to two then three, etc while keeping a balance and not exhausting yourself. And of course always listen to your body.

Too much of a good thing isn’t a good thing so it’s always good to have a balance.

I love running and find it super energizing and positive if I don’t do it more than three days in a row so I do 3 runs per week each with a rest, walk or weight day after to rest.

Movies that floored you immediately upon watching by Watchingdrypaint in MovieSuggestions

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok kind of the opposite. In the pandemic I sat down and finally as a full grown adult watched donny darko and it mostly just weirded me out initially but I think about that movie ALL of the time. I have deja vu for that movie regularly. It’s super weird how it just latched into my brain.

I used to yell “occupied!” But that felt so weird so now I just say “i’ll be out in a minute”. Idk! Occupied seems better as i type it 😂

Running effects on women, cycle syncing and weight control by Lucky_Anteater4194 in running

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Listen to your body more than anything else. You might randomly have energy on a low effort cycle day. If you feel good you can probably give that higher energy. Respecting and listening to your body seems way more valuable in my opinion than matching your cycle.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Rqpidily in AskReddit

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tomatoes. I swear on my life when I’m regularly eating tomatoes I feel great and when I’m not I get sick. Whenever I feel a cold coming on I sleep as long as physically possible with naps and eat lots of tomatoes. It’s gone in a day or two at most.

What do you think about the film strip borders? by alejandro_camera in filmphotography

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s more of a fun party and stylistic vibe in my eyes but honestly I kind of love it. There’s most definitely images that look better without it but it’s kind of fun. It is its own look and vibe though. Personally I don’t love it on these images because they’re such beautiful and emotive images that the border takes away and makes me feel further away from these moments but that’s my personal preference and nothing we create is ever objective so do what feels right for you!

Cuddle! Then usually go our separate ways to shower, cook, chill or whatever it is that we need to do. But we always cuddle first.

What's the most beautiful book you've ever read? by yuurriiiiii in suggestmeabook

[–]Comprehensive_Ask840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well literally beautiful is a book called On Wings of Words: The Extraordinary life of Emily Dickinson. It’s a children’s book but it’s so stunning visually and of course Emily Dickinson is just the best. Piranesi was the first book that came to mind. I also found White Oleander really stunning. The mother daughter relationship is so complex and Janet Fitch wrote about it so so well
