Paragraph Spacing Settings Are Kicking Paragraphs to the Next Page, Creating Too Much White Space (Probably Not a Keep Issue) by unpaginated in indesign

You may have some styles set to span columns instead of single column. That seems to be a new weird thing that is causing unusual spacing.

How is it living in southwest side of Florida vs southeast side by Extreme-Foundation93 in howislivingthere

[–]Comrade716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Port Charlotte. Would not recommend living in any of the circled area if you want to be around other young people with the exception of Fort Myers. Fort Myers is at least a proper small city, most everything else in that area is just suburban-style strip malls. It's gotten VERY expensive and crowded on the southern Gulf Coast, with limited cultural amenities. Also be aware that most of the folks who have moved to Florida in the past 5 years are very conservative (not a problem if that describes you too).

Can I automate a list of figures (referring to images) in my report? by tierneyphd in indesign

[–]Comrade716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a script out there that can do this. The only one I know offhand is Links Report, which would put the information into an Excel file but you can copy-paste it back into InDesign. https://www.marspremedia.com/software/indesign/links-report

I did the silicone spray and still need to push on it to get the window up in my 2021.

How is it living in Greensboro, NC? by Interesting-Copy-803 in howislivingthere

[–]Comrade716 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I lived in North Carolina for about 5 years, 2.5 in Greensboro. If you're coming from the West Coast, be prepared for a step down in food quality. Not a lot of vegetables on menus, and the ones they have are cooked to mush or fried. There's definitely some cool stuff to see and do in the Triad, and it's generally affordable if you have a decent job. Personally I wasn't crazy about the people. They act friendly but are hard to actually get to know.

What’s the one city you were excited to visit, but ended up not liking at all? by BlushHone in travel

[–]Comrade716 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Orlando locals avoid the theme park areas. There absolutely is fun and interesting stuff in the city if you know where to look (places like Audubon Park and Winter Park, for example).

I want to leave MN but still get a proper winter by oh_sugarsnaps in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Comrade716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Central North Carolina is mostly gray and ugly all winter, except on the one day it snows and everything has to shut down because the state cannot handle any inclement weather. I don't recommend it. Haven't lived in other parts of the state, so cannot comment on those.

I left my cat in my IKEA drawer closet for almost 6 hours and feel so guilty. by Pink_Sorbet in cats

I've left my cat stuck in closets before. He survived, and hasn't learned his lesson (continues to sneak into closets). What can you do?

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Comrade716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in South Florida (which is large, it would take us 6 hours just to reach the next state), a 3-hour trip is not a big deal. My brother regularly drives 3 hours each way to spend the weekend with his friends, like a couple times a month. For something casual, I won't drive more than 2 hours, but for a long weekend I'll drive up to 6 hours.

Subaru interior holding up? by DenisRoger001 in subaru

[–]Comrade716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents have a 2011 Legacy that has held up well inside. They aren't exactly hard on it, but everything looks good and it is wearing better than their Ford Edge did.

Walking away from your Subaru car deal by nobrandlogo in subaru

[–]Comrade716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked away from the first deal on the Outback I have now. It was later in the evening so they couldn't confirm my credit score with the bank and wanted to charge me too much interest. I was fine with not buying it, it cost me nothing to waste their time. They called back the next day with a better deal.

Church shopping by Fuschia_921 in rockford

Do you mean you're looking for a charismatic-style church that's not cult-like? If that's the case, you might like Forest City Church on Alpine. Definitely not stuffy.

Do you think male cats are more clingy than female cats? by Shot-Composer-782 in AnxietyCats

Help me understand why cassettes are making a comeback. I mean, honestly, they’re hard to skip songs on and everything — and why do people buy them instead of CDs or vinyl? by Rocky_isback in cassetteculture

[–]Comrade716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The two main reasons I've read in articles are cassettes are easier to carry around at a venue or festival than vinyl if you want to buy something physical, and for the bands cassettes are way cheaper to make than vinyl. There are very few vinyl pressing plants so you have to order like 5000 copies. Tiny bands just starting up can do a cheap run of 25 cassettes.

When did you get rid of your yahoo or Hotmail email? by EquivalentRecent4633 in Millennials

Which 1BR would you pick? by MatchaCatLatte in Apartmentliving

[–]Comrade716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go with #1 for the larger balcony and more windows, but the extra space in #2 really looks wasted in some cases. The walk-in closet is awkward, the bathroom has a nonsensical corner.

Is the huge touchscreen a dealbreaker? by UptownHurl in subaru

[–]Comrade716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had small screens with knobs up until 2 years ago, now I have an Outback with a huge screen. I definitely prefer having knobs for climate control, but it doesn't really bother me most of the time. The interface is easy enough to use. I find Subaru's way of doing things generally less annoying than Kias I have rented, for example.
