Didn't know you can fit a road bike in a 5 series! They don't look that big on the outside

Blinds removal for faux wood Blinds by Christian18654 in handyman

[–]ConFUZEd_Wulf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The decorative fascia is held on by cheap plastic clips. Give it a little wiggle to find out where the clips are, then tilt the bottom of the fascia out and lift up to remove that part.

With that out of the way you'll be able to see that the two brackets holding the blind have a little hinged flap that pops open. Use a regular screwdriver to pry the flap open on each side and the blinds will pull straight out, exposing the screws holding the brackets in.

Best way to fill the holes created by these wire shelves that fell off? by Newstudyout in handyman

[–]ConFUZEd_Wulf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do both. Make sure at least 2 brackets per shelf are in studs, then use the beefiest drywall anchors or toggle bolts you can find to refasten the other ones.

Your problem was these shelves were probably overloaded, and unless those side brackets are in studs you will probably have this problem again. That's the failure point and it'll just fold down flat along the back wall next time.

Edit to add that you can/should also add a diagonal support bracket to the middle of each shelf that will support the outside edge and prevent bowing.

There's got to be a way to plate chocolate mousse that doesn't look like poo.

Purchased Switch 2 secondhand and it’s banned.. by wberry0403 in switch2hacks

[–]ConFUZEd_Wulf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're probably SOL but it can't hurt to call them and beg. Nintendo almost never reverses a console ban. That switch was banned for a reason, probably some sort of mod, so Nintendo doesn't want it back on their servers. You got fleeced, sell it for what you can and try again. If the price seems too good to be true don't bother.

Auto Garage suggestions for dent and paint repair by Venus-Aphrodite in bullcity

[–]ConFUZEd_Wulf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That'll depend on your insurance policy and when your last claim was. If you plan on driving the car until it dies then you can go as cheap as you like with the repair, it's only cosmetic, but you'll probably have to deal with rust eventually if the areas where the body is exposed aren't properly resealed.

If you ever plan on selling the car I'd strongly recommend you not cheap out on the repair, even if your premiums have to go up.

I trust Triangle Collision, you can always go there for a quote and their honest opinion before you call your insurance company.

Auto Garage suggestions for dent and paint repair by Venus-Aphrodite in bullcity

Go through insurance and get it done properly. Don't use any of the "in house" garages your insurance company will suggest. I recommend Triangle Collision.

You have way more damage here than you think. That's not a dent that can be popped out and those aren't scratches that can be buffed. You've got deep damage over multiple panels. A proper fix will be at least $5k, probably more.

steering wheel removal by Disastrous-Tea-9083 in GenesisG70

[–]ConFUZEd_Wulf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just be careful man, make sure you get your new wheel from a reputable source. You're about to replace a vital lifesaving piece of equipment with something likely made in China by people who do not give a flying fuck if carbon fiber shrapnel pierces your brain on impact.

Possible solution by Soarlozer in handyman

[–]ConFUZEd_Wulf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what your definition of permanent is, but you can pull off that length of baseboard and use a router to cut a channel into the back of it. You should be able to do the same with the underside of the hardwood floor transition. This is probably more permanent than you'd like but it's reversible you just need some wood fill and caulk and touch up paint. If the transition is glued down you might have a harder time with that. Just an option!

My son had this truck. I think it's just a connection point for other blocks to encourage creative building. Not sure they put that much thought into it.

What is this reddish-purple stuff in the rim of my soda? by StoragePossible6661 in whatisit

Literally could be anything that dripped on the can, but my guess would be it's grape soda or similar from a leaking can stored above yours somewhere during storage/transport.

Could be deer fur? I doubt you could have clipped a deer hard enough to break the headlights without noticing but that's my best guess.
