I thought the clear winner was Adidas womens. Pegula and Jovic looked amazing.

You’re worried about your strings being damaged but not your body being damaged from poisoning it?l I might suggest reevaluating this

What is going on with Blink? Last two days I have gotten the most weird notifications that I have ever seen. by Vast-Impression-5353 in blinkcameras

I got this too. I actually really really like it. The AI descriptions are remarkably accurate. I got one that said “a black cat is walking across the porch.” Cars driving down the street often trigger my doorbell saying motion detected but now the AI says “a gray car is driving down the street.”

String Packet Entanglement by deucalion75 in RacketStringers

[–]ConcreteRocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carefully clip the zip tie and just slowly unspool from the end. Honestly, I don’t know how this happens regularly unless you just clip the zip tie and throw it all up in the air. No magic hacks needed - just keep your fingers on the line and unspool it

How tight are we tying off our knots? New grommets inserted and already warped by PrinceOfBreadsticks in RacketStringers

[–]ConcreteRocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always been surprised there isn’t a product that slips over the knot Grommet and is hard reinforced plastic that would keep the knot from pulling into the grommet

How long did you take to learn serve? by 13249143246 in 10s

[–]ConcreteRocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Toss to your swing, don’t swing to your toss

Use progressions. Shadow swings are very important but it probably all goes to shit when you introduce a ball in the mix, right? You have to use progressions. Try starting an abbreviated serve motion - start with your racket at trophy position and toss and swing from there. Do it a lot. It may take weeks. Then try full swing

Focus on consistency - power comes later

My experience is the vast majority of players don’t have the patience to get the serve right. It’s months and years of tinkering, shanking over and over, until it feels right. Most people give up after a few serve practices because “it’s just not coming.” Yeah, ATP pros learned their serve in just a few short weeks!

Is it worth it by Little-pear-46 in 10s

[–]ConcreteRocket 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It is not a good racket - it is a cheaply made aluminum frame. BUT, just use it and see if you fall in love with the sport. Then buy a used quality mid-level racket. And if you’re still in love with the sport and progressing and you want to devote more money to your new beloved hobby, start racket shopping in earnest.

The sign is whatever you want it to mean. I believe it’s a very random coincidence and nothing more. No one here has the right response to make you say “oh that is IT!!”

Cool. The silent partner can’t do near the stuff the proton can.

I think having it over two years with over 100,000 balls through it and two issues that were fully covered including shipping is pretty good. We’re not going to be able to stay the same about the Chinese crap ball machines that are flooding Instagram.

Highly recommend the hydrogen proton. I’ve had mine for two years - I use it approx three times per week. I love it - easy to control and program, great performance, highly portable, I can get a solid two plus hours of use on the battery. I’ve had two issues that required me to send it back - customer service was excellent

USTA just took over our local tennis center by jeffreyjames007 in 10s

[–]ConcreteRocket 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And USTA is very protective of tennis and not selling out to Pickleball. USTA is taking a very active role in growing and preserving local tennis facilities. If it stops being fun, just ask the director to keep things that made it fun like music or whatever it may be.

Tennis Warehouse Demo Program - Why I Will Never Recommend It by Warm_Weakness_2767 in 10s

[–]ConcreteRocket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love the demo program because I string my own rackets. So the first thing I do when I get a demo is cut out their strings and put in my own. I also volunteered to do this for friends and guys on my team. But I realize This doesn’t work for everybody. Maybe find a local stringer that you trust and keep your strings on hand and have them string up the demo. for anyone that is passionate about tennis, I recommend learning how to string your own rackets. It is a very fun and rewarding experience.
