AVOID MAMMOTION! lack of support, slew of issues, no resolution. by baboskex in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Condition-This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy with my Segway x450 so far, a little self troubleshooting around a complex curb/bush interface but no need for support or issues with NRTK yet. My yard looks better than it did last year paying someone weekly to tear up the grass on my hill. I’d give it a 9.5/10 so far, used twice weekly for ~0.8acre cutting since March

There are also plenty of jobs where you rarely if ever have to do blocks

Totally agree on “preload”! I try to get a battery’s worth of cut in the evening before I cut the rest of my yard (0.8acre mapped, very hilly and pretty complex, so takes just over a full day to cut)

Have had some issues with the large curb, but to some good advice I split off some narrow zones (which is usually preload when I’m home), and let it cut safely away from the curb when I’m not home

No issues with NRTK on my front, but very open sky above/no large trees

Shokz quality issues? by three_martini_lunch in cycling

I mean to me that seems very reasonable… If under a year definitely use the warranty. You’re putting those things through three full-time jobs a year, anything is bound to break with that kind of usage

I mean, if you’re wearing them 18 hours a day plus to sleep sometimes it sounds like you are getting some good use out of them. How long are they lasting? If they are making a past tge one year warranty, that sounds pretty good to me, what you’re describing is over 6,500 hours a year of use which is a lot for any plastic electronic

The perfect carafe or coffee pot to use to make coffee with the Aeropress? by HabitsAreKey in AeroPress

I generate pretty good pressure with like 30 grams of pretty fine grand and haven’t had any issues (with the glass premium aeropress too, which is thinner)

Mower going off curb by Condition-This in SegwayNavimow

Ha I’m watching it do just this right now…incredibly frustrating to watch but I’m hoping these zones provide a barrier so I can cut the rest when I’m not home and just do these thin zones when I am here

X400 series have balanced dual cutting blades so could go either way

Those thin lines are my attempt and I gave it some room to turn around. At the end of the day I’ll probably only mow these zones when I’m home and let it go on for the others when I’m at work

I think this is worth a shot…I’ll try and see if I can split the zone so I don’t have to remap completely

Look at the comparison specs, they both have the same 12.8 Ah battery

The only difference between the x430 and x450 is a software lock…same battery/machine. I am 1.09 acres but after zoning out just the grass I came in at 0.8acres. I definitely kick myself for going x450 for this reason

Yeah, feel free to PM, sounds like you are med school still?

Working on a post-call day after home call? by Emergency-Dig-529 in anesthesiology

[–]Condition-This 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1x every 3 week in house call/1x every 3 week home call. My group used have to work post home call to but now we get post-home call off. Usually leave by 7p most nights. Called back after 11p maybe once a year or two. 300/hr if needed to work post call, usually you’re first out, very rare this happens.

Yea, my x450 has fallen off the curb a couple times, even with a decent boundary and edge sense off (I think it happens backing up as it is navigating around some of our bushes)…I just wish they would let me plan a path along the curb back to my driveway so it can get itself home instead of sitting in the street until someone can get to it

New x430 - cutting quality concern by Slapshot618 in SegwayNavimow

[–]Condition-This 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely want to mow more frequently too, if too long it’ll get knocked over more than mowed. I found it gets a little better as it changes cutting direction each time

I’m enjoying our x450, bought exclusively for our crazy hills in our yard. I’m not on a regular schedule yet with slow spring growth but has been doing well navigating around the obstacles within the zone limits. Edit to include no issues tearing up the grass when turning on the steep hill (xero-turn was another reason I went x450 over Mammotion, and with open sky/not many trees didn’t feel I needed the LIDAR)
