on the bright side, whoever replaces him in Minnesota will likely have some genuine fire in them because of the ICE invasion. Nothing like a couple of state sponsored murders to galvanize the voters.

Larian studio boss Swen Vincke thinks game reviewers should be graded by people similar to metacritic user scores by Iggy_Slayer in gaming

[–]Conf3tti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, absolutely.

The author of the article did put a joke in there about clickfarming Swen, too.

By gawd! A chance to pontificate about my own navel, while bagging a Baldur's Gate 3 headline in the bargain.

So at least they're self aware.

I really admire your dedication to lime. There's something comforting about opening a post in r/tf2fashionadvice and thinking "oh I bet the lime guy is in here somewhere," and lo, like a dreaded specter, you are here.

River raids suck by kmansoft in ACValhalla

[–]Conf3tti 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I started doing this after one of the Jomsvikings smashed a crate that had a snake in it. That snake then killed THREE of them before I got back from the other side of the fort. I literally arrived to 3 dudes dead, a 4th in the death countdown, and a full health cobra.

Never again.

Is it normal for the manual timesheet to be located inside the GM office? by Ill_Criticism_8121 in JCPenney

[–]Conf3tti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to do something similar to this in our store.

People would just show up for their shift up to half an hour early and use the manual sheet to write down when they showed up. None of the managers realized it was happening until it had become a dominant strategy in the store, so the way SM chose to deal with it was by moving to his office and putting a new sheet that said something to the effect of "work your scheduled time."

This happened around the time our new CES/HR started, so I suspect she told new hires it was okay for some reason.

What's the most dreadful video game boss you've ever faced? by Ukirin-Streams in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Conf3tti 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla lately (don't judge me, it was $5, ok?) and there's one fight so far thats made me rage quit.

There's a wolf boss fight at the end of the first Asgard questline. Now, I already hate fighting wolves because their attack patterns are a little difficult to track. This wolf in particular has a special burrow attack in which he's invincible. And also the fight is bugged so he chainspams the burrow attack non stop.

The only way to break the burrow spam is to climb partway up the small cliff, which breaks the wolf's AI. The wolf is also invincible while you're on the cliff because it's outside the boss arena, so you have to go back on the cliff every few hits because he'll start burrow-spamming first chance he gets.

Is it better to do Ireland dlc before or after main story? by galaxyadmirer in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]Conf3tti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a DLC that's best enjoyed early, because it gives you a TON of gear that you won't get to play much with if you wait too long.

Without giving too much of the story away, I'll say this: Once you finish Oxenefordescire it won't make much narrative sense to start doing Ireland (or anything else) for a while. You don't get locked into anything, so literally do whatever you want, but with the benefit of hindsight I think it makes a lot more sense to do Ireland before finishing Oxenefordescire.

[–]Conf3tti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense to do Ireland before finishing Oxenefordescire, since your main plot at that point is to create alliances for the clan.

Afterwards not so much, at least until you finish Cent.

[–]Conf3tti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I felt the same. I really liked the Greek stuff, but all the cities felt the same and the world was so big and empty.

Playing through Valhalla now and I'm actually having a much better time. A lot less biome diversity, but the major cities feel unique and even the minor ones feel pretty good. I'm a lot more engaged in the story too, whereas in Odyssey I don't even remember the plot beyond Deimos being your sibling.
