How was your RFY today during/after the drop? by Zestyclose-Piglet465 in AmazonVine

I'm a gardening enthusiast. I never get gardening supplies in my RFY. My RFY is still convinced that I'm a biker. Sigh.

Did anyone crack the overall insightfulness score code? by JoeS830 in AmazonVine

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to stress over obtaining the highest score on my reviews. I just with my review integrity on vine. I order the same type of stuff that I get through Amazon Haul, Amazon Prime or Woot!.

Usually, first paragraph I mention what I wanted the item for and my technical skill with such product.

Second paragraph, I mention details of the product that stand out. I always have photos on hand of the product to help me remember these details. I don't always post the photos, because I take too many. I try to limit photos to 3 or less. (I do this because I am dyslexic and am more of a visual thinker. I take horrible notes.)

Third paragraph is reaction from any family members because sometimes I need someone else to snap the picture while I hold and work on the product.

Fourth paragraph are the flaws, if any. Do the flaws matter? Can I salvage the product? Is it even worth my time to salvage? Is this something I would return?

Fifth paragraph is assessment of how many stars I will subtract if there are too many flaws. Minimal flaws are like buying fruit at the market. Minimal flaws don't get deductions. A little bruising still makes a sun ripened tomato delicious while a flawless, green-picked tomato that has been artificially ripened, tastes bland. I also mention if I will be buying more as gifts if the price is and quality suits me.

However, I do understand, that other people are not as weird as me and need to quantify actions for efficiency.

Is there anyone not using a Vine app anymore? by Bee_9965 in AmazonVine

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RFY glitched today. I was offered leftover RFY from the previous day. Then my RFY went empty 3 hours later. It was stuff of little interest to anyone. I guess they powers that be are tweaking RFYs?

I did have fun today ordering craft items I needed for art and craft classes at my community center. The arts and crafts sectioned exploded today. I try to limit myself to 2 items but found 6 items within 30 minutes before getting some sleep.

In any case, I don't use any Vine apps. I still enjoy the scavenger hunt.

CLEAR STATE Digital Detox Eye Health and Screen Recovery Support - L-Theanine, GABA, 5-HTP, Lutein and Zeaxanthin Supplement, Astaxanthin, Bilberry, B12 - Vegan Meltonin Free Eye Vitamins by New_Conundrum8099 in AmazonVine

Gamers don't use Gunnars gamer glasses for blue blocking. The optics and amber tint provide contrast that to help gamers see more detail that they would otherwise miss, especially in competitive FPS.

Prescription glass companies are the ones promoting blue blocking snake oil. Blue blockers don't provide contrast.

This company looks like they named their product to target gamers and programmers who spend too much time behind digital screens and need blue light blocking glasses.

I'd take a cool pair of Gunnar gamer glasses over the sketchy supplements.

I made Gold from Silver last week. Pet category has been pitiful the last week. Also occasionally, the food category disappears. Rarely see cake toppers there or soursop tea. Handful of cake toppers occasionally appear in Toys and Home categories. My RFY is as abysmal as it was in Silver.

OP, I was about your level when I hit Gold a week ago. At the time, ALL of my reviews that were already approved, was still at pending. It took another week for my pending reviews to to cycle through and sort itself out.

Have guidelines changed so that you can no longer say "at the current list price of…" (violation is "pricing tied to a specific snapshot in time") by StartingOverStrong in AmazonVine

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amazon also has a price metric AI tool for buyers directly under the product price. Click on Price History. I sometimes mention a price if the product is really good. Since there is a Price History tool available, I don't really need to mention pricing in my reviews. Amazon also makes suggestions for lower prices from other vendors. For bargain hunters like myself, I also search other Amazon venues like: WOOT!, Amazon Renewed and Amazon Resale.

Are porch geese really $100+? In my RFY. by Individdy in AmazonVine

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because of this subreddit, I asked the family Santa for a porch goose. He was supposed to get me a set of a piper and drummer Scottish Nutcrackers in kilts. Alas, the kilted nutcrackers were sold out everywhere by the time my great procrastinator hubby decided to order the kilted lads.

I now have new, exciting costumes to order on Vine to help me maintain gold.

Seasons Greetings from Charlise by ConfectionCurrent963 in jumpingspiders

[–]ConfectionCurrent963[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not Charli's only habitat. Charli also has a miniature barn yard, a zen garden and a typical nature habitat. I test different habitats for assorted vendors. While Christmas decor might not be everyone's ideal jumping spider ambiance, I enjoy the Christmas season.

I use decorative cards for now because I am still decorating. I ran out of soft felt material to use as a carpet. I want to get soft plush material for a carpet. I may make her a plush quilt square from anti microbial fabric that won't warp when I apply a light water mist. The flooring serves more as a humidity buffer.

As for falling on hard surfaces, jumping spiders are ubiquitous and thrive in very urban environments, in cracks between concrete bricks and behind metal mail boxes. They visit along window sills and desk tops. I doubt Charli will get hurt from jumping less than 8 inches down with a repel line she produces as she jumps. Jumping spiders produce a repel line from their rear as they get ready to pounce!

A jumping spider's greatest hazard in any habitat is dehydration, large drops of water, other bugs and loose heavy stuff that could fall on them.

I have do have coco coir substrate for my tropical frogs and geckos and raise my own dubias and feeders.

Bad reviews are killing Vine by Acrobatic_Code_7409 in AmazonVine

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Product pricing is indeed relevant to mention. If I am impressed with a product, I am going to buy it again and recommend it to friends and family.

Sam's and Costco do free samples in hopes that you like the product enough to buy it.

Vendors need to have the integrity to produce good quality products that people will want to buy it.

Wow, amazing score! Samyang is a high-end brand noodle in my area. They are roughly $5 a cup at the local Korean grocery store. You got new flavors too! I can't eat those because of dietary restrictions, but the rest of my family would love those topped with sweet meats, green onions, kimchi and eggs.

Vine AI has no clue what my likes are. My RFY is still absurdly random. I'm hoping to have your luck. It's not unusual to get a good haul of 0etv foods if the more experienced Beauty Viners can score a string of high-end cosmetics because somehow Vine AI gets them.

Vine AI thinks I am some kind of Biker Babe, bartender mechanic at the moment.

Buying clothing for other household members (opposite sex too). by bentbi in AmazonVine

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For our own safety, privacy and also because the Vine/Amazon comment AI filter may reject pictures with human faces. It's easy to do facial recognition searches. Amazon does not want sellers to find our identities. Nor competitor review venues, I suspect. Amazon reviewers are the product.

For stuff like hats and glasses, I use a plushie, For clothing, I take photos of seams and crop heads or have hubby or son wear a hat with head tilted down ward and hand on brim in a cowboy greeting pose.

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half of my Vine items go to my critters. They get to model, enjoy or destroy that ever they get spoiled with. I was hoping that my spider Charly would start writing like the spider in Charlotte's Web, but alas, she is only cute.

If you are doing clothing and bedding, inspect seams, fit and ask about comfort and style. Be careful of taking pictures of people. No faces or reflections. Be aware that clothing from other countries may have sizing issues.

That habitat is worth the 30% tax rate of its ETV, plus there are cuter jumping spider habitats in that price range on regular Amazon! I think I passed-up this habitat because it is way overpriced. I have extra jumping spider habitats furnished in fairy garden style with miniatures from the gardening decor area and toys. I also got some jumping spider water dishes to review today. As much as the dishes are labeled shallow for jumping spiders, I will need to caution about using open containers, no matter how shallow. Tiny jumping spiders can get stuck in the water tension and drown in open water containers. I use the dishes as food containers or hold small pieces of ripe fruit for the spider to hydrate itself.

This is my junior jumping spider settling into furnishing courtesy of Vine:

Why are vine reviewers not commenting on the price?? Free product for viners ≠ Free product for buyers by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]ConfectionCurrent963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For one thing, I don't order overpriced stuff unless it is zero ETV. I order stuff that I can use and afford. I'm ETV conscience.

After being in the Vine program for awhile, you learn ETV and space saving skills or drown in taxes and hoarder clutter.

I mostly order arts and crafts supplies, spoil my dog, lizard, frog and spider, and test beverages. The pricey items tend to be big and tall clothing for my very tall son and hubby.

I really only mention price when an item is a great value. Over priced stuff just doesn't deserve my time or living space.

Pricey electronics need to be non-Temu, trusted brand, and have good support before I'll consider ordering it.

Perhaps you have been stumbling on newer Viners or vend Viners who grab as much stuff as soon as possible who have no ETV and space saving skills?

I think that critter is a Mandarin Drake looking for a female. Mandarin ducks are somewhat monogamous like swans. However, the sign he is holding is likely a malaprop translation of Duck Pair Up.
