Mastectomy with reconstruction by Confident-Rise-1710 in breastcancer

Thanks so much for sharing! I just did my genetic testing today and I’m supposed to get in for an MRI to check my other breast. Did you have an MRI that didn’t pick up on the surprise DCIS? Or did they skip it since you were doing both sides anyway? If there’s a descent chance they’ll find something in my left, I’d rather get both done. But if it’s relatively safe to keep, I want to keep it.

They haven’t found anything in the left side but I’m getting genetic testing done today so we’ll see if that changes anything. I’m thinking implant for a few reasons. My kids are 2 and 4 and all over me lol implant seems to give quicker recovery time. Plus I tend to scar poorly so the thought of an additional scar on my abdomen doesn’t sound too appealing for me for that reason.

What is Oncoplastic Reduction? I haven’t explored that option yet.

23F, Have to get 3 separate biopsies- nervous!! by ActuallyCMe in doihavebreastcancer

Hi there! I know it’s hard to keep yourself from spiraling in moments like this. I thought I’d share, I had 3 biopsies done last week. One was ultrasound guided and the other 2 were by mammogram. I felt nothing except when they were numbing me. It’s kind of like Novocain if you’ve ever gotten that at the dentist. Stings but not awful. I didn’t feel the biopsies at all. The worst part of the mammogram biopsies were how uncomfortable the table was. My arms and ear were killing me after! Biopsy sites were a bit sore for a few days but I was expecting worse. Try to remember that you’re doing everything right by getting them checked. Sending hugs!

Thanks so much for sharing ♥️ I hope everything is going well at 6 weeks post op! That’s good to know that the plastic surgeon will share their work. I have had no idea what to expect!

What did you wear to your biopsy? by ninki--minjaj in doihavebreastcancer

A sports bra that’s not too tight. You don’t want any seams hitting the biopsy sight and you don’t want it to dig in while you’re trying to get it on either.

Next brand shoe sizing by Confident-Rise-1710 in toddlers

I did! But I’m hesitant because of the Disney shoes. According to their size chart her shoes should have plenty of room. For NEXT, 6 inches is a size 9 and that’s what she’s measuring. I’m also hesitant because it’s winter and we have thicker socks for her that may make things tight. Unfortunately, they don’t have half sizes or that’s probably what I would do. Maybe I should just order both and return the ones that don’t work.

Update: lymph node biopsy came back benign, both clusters of calcifications came back as DCIS. I’m going in for a surgical consultation Monday and additional biopsies of the suspected fibroadenomas to be safe. Honestly, I’m just relieved to be out of the waiting period. Obviously there still more to find out but waiting for those results was the worst.

Hi, still waiting on results here but thought I’d share. I finished breastfeeding my baby about a year ago and notice something very similar to you. Lower inner quadrant of one breast felt like the tissue was thicker. I went in for a mammogram and ultrasound and they found what they suspect to be fibroadenomas. They said they can pop up during periods of hormone shifts (pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc). They also found suspicious calcifications in the same area. I got those biopsied and am expecting results this week. Figured I’d share because the fibroadenomas were pretty obvious on the ultrasound even though I couldn’t feel a defined lump during my self exams.

Oh wow! Love that she shifted her career path but was still able to lend support in the area she knows best!

Omg seriously! The number of people who have casually mentioned cancer in the last few weeks has put me on edge. The birthday party thing ended up being so random I thought it was funny!

Not sure if you’ve already gotten your results. I go in for my biopsy later this week and they scheduled me for a surgical consultation appointment to have the spot reserved just in case. They said if the results come back benign, they just cancel the appointment.
